Have you ever stared into the abyss of the internet and it blinked back at you? Well, prepare to laugh at your insidious fate, because it turns out swindlers have gone full-on digital Hitchcock, faking “Live” YouTube videos during and after Swell 2025! 🎥😤
Swell – the blockbuster bash for crypto nuts, banking buffs, and blockchain buddies – was supposed to be about innovating the financial landscape, not becoming the setting for a cosmic con-artist convention. And my, oh my, did they converge in NYC, Nov. 4 to 5, with a live stream that’s now as legendary as the internet itself. Or at least its second cousin.
Now, gather ’round, folks – scammers, those Shakespearean villains in ones and zeros, took it upon themselves to exploit Ripple‘s ever-growing clout and the allure of XRP. With chirpy delight, they started broadcasting fake “Live” YouTube videos to the adoring masses both during and after this much-anticipated festival of the future.
Eons or maybe just a few years ago, these charming ne’er-do-wells first emerged on the digital scene with deepfakes, masterpieces crafted in deception’s utmost form. These malevolent machinations have been contributing to the grand tapestry of misinformation, a frightening frontier of crypto scams, and all manner of swindling. “Art imitates deceit,” they seem to be muttering ominously through the dark web.
Never send your XRP, Ripple cautions, in Mel Brooks voice, naturally 🧐
Would it surprise you to know that legitimate media interviews and public appearances can too fall victim to the tragic play of trickery? Should you, dear reader, find yourself ensnared by a clever scam, you might be directed by these digital Hamlets to a fraudulent website or some nefarious wallet address, all asking for your coins! Remember: The ONLY exchange Ripple wants is a handful of your attention as you unravel their warnings. But no XRP, please! 🙅♂️
“We saw a big surge in fake “Live” YouTube videos during and after Swell.🚫
Reminder: @Ripple will NEVER ask you to send us XRP. Stay vigilant! 🕵️♂️🔑” – Ripple (@Ripple) November 14, 2025
These digital fence jumpers often set up fraudulent websites (think of them as the online equivalent of a shady back-alley deal). Their approach? Public “send to” wallet addresses, sometimes with a chat feature to quickly con into their grand scheme those poor, unsuspecting souls. But fear not, cyberspace wayfarers – Ripple calls you to vigilance, vowing that neither it nor its super employees will ask for your XRP under the crescent moon’s daunting glare.
Ripple goes commando in its war against crypto crimes
And did you know in August 2025, Ripple declared its intention to join forces with TRM Labs’ Beacon Network, the elven alliance of sorts to smack down cryptocurrency crime by enabling real-time intelligence sharing between law enforcement, crypto exchanges, and those quirky financial institutions? Alas, they became founding members amidst a proud group of serious business people.
Before that, in May 2024, Ripple teamed up with Swirlds Labs and Algorand Foundation to kick off the DeRec Alliance. Like a supergroup of superheroes intent on keeping digital assets safer than Fort Knox, they’re committed to making sure your passwords and secrets are as secure as anything you remember to keep central in your brain.
