IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman series, has confirmed that their James Bond game, 007 First Light, is finished and ready for release on May 27, 2026.
In the video game world, “going gold” means the game is finished and ready to be manufactured – the 1.0 version is complete. Now, the team will likely focus on a launch-day update to address any remaining bugs or problems before players get their hands on it in two weeks.
Similar to how they handled previous Hitman games, the developers see the launch of 007 First Light as just the beginning. They plan to add more content and support after release, ensuring there’s plenty to do beyond the main story, which is expected to take around 20 hours to complete.
