A key part of promoting any new James Bond film is its theme song, and it appears we may soon hear the theme for the upcoming *007 First Light*. A Reddit user noticed a song called “First Light” was recently registered with ASCAP, the organization that tracks music copyrights. Although it’s not an official announcement yet, the fact that Universal Music Group is publishing the song suggests it could be the new Bond theme. However, the listing has since been removed.

Interestingly, a song potentially by Lana Del Rey has been registered with ASCAP, suggesting she might be recording a theme song for a James Bond film. This isn’t the first time she’s tried to contribute to a Bond soundtrack; she’s previously worked on songs that weren’t ultimately chosen, like the theme for 2015’s *Spectre*, which ended up using Sam Smith’s *Writing’s On The Wall* instead.

The James Bond films are famous for their memorable theme songs, performed by a variety of popular artists. Over the years, singers like Duran Duran, Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, and Carly Simon have all contributed iconic songs. More recently, artists such as Chris Cornell, Adele, Billie Eilish, and Sam Smith have added to the franchise’s musical legacy.

The main song for the new game, *007 First Light*, will be sung by Lana Del Rey, but the classic *James Bond* theme music will also be featured. Dominic Vega, the audio and missions director, revealed that players won’t hear the theme right away. Because the game tells the story of Bond’s beginnings, you’ll actually unlock the iconic music as you progress through the game.

According to Vega, the game’s protagonist is developing throughout the campaign, solidifying his identity and the core ideas of the story. While drawing from 60 years of Bond’s established sound, the focus will be on creating new music. Vega also discussed their work with composers Joe Henson and Alexis Smith, known as The Flight, and how their collaboration shaped the game’s musical style.

Vega praised the composing duo, highlighting their impressive background and exceptional music. She described them as a perfect fit for the James Bond franchise, combining traditional orchestral skill with a modern sound that she believes will appeal to players and move the series in a positive direction.

Their music blends orchestral sounds with electronic elements, which perfectly captures the feeling we want for a new, younger James Bond as he enters the world of MI6, espionage, and international intrigue. It really helps bring that world to life.
