Daredevil first became known as a solo hero, defending the people of Hell’s Kitchen while battling his own inner demons. But many of his most memorable stories involve him joining forces with other heroes – sometimes friends, sometimes rivals. Frank Miller’s influential work on the comic (from 1979 to 1986) brought in key characters like the villains Kingpin and Bullseye, and allies like Elektra. Before that, a notable series even gave Daredevil and Black Widow an official team-up title. Considering his ties to other street-level Marvel heroes, Daredevil has partnered with many characters throughout the years.
Here’s a rundown of the 10 greatest Daredevil team-up comics, featuring allies and rivals like Elektra, Echo, and even Spider-Man.
10) Echo (Daredevil & Echo, 2023)

Daredevil and Echo’s relationship began like his romance with Elektra. However, their connection was complicated when Kingpin manipulated Echo into believing Daredevil was responsible for her father’s death. They truly shined together in the 2023 miniseries Daredevil & Echo, created by Taboo, B. Earl, and Phil Noto. By then, they were already strong allies, and they teamed up to fight the demonic Demogoblin, who was kidnapping children in Hell’s Kitchen. This story leans more into horror, as Daredevil and Echo try to defeat an ancient evil that even their ancestors couldn’t overcome.
9) White Tiger (Daredevil Vol. 2 #38–40)

The new Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, follows a storyline from the comics where Matt Murdock defends White Tiger after his arrest for acting as a vigilante. Specifically, this mirrors issues #38-40 of Daredevil Vol. 2, written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Manuel Gutierrez. In those comics, Hector Ayala, the first White Tiger, is falsely accused of murdering a police officer during a robbery. Luke Cage and Iron Fist enlist Matt as White Tiger’s lawyer while they investigate the true killer. Like the original story, the series is expected to have a somber conclusion, highlighting that superheroes face threats from more than just supervillains.
8) Deadpool (Deadpool: Suicide Kings)

Deadpool is known for teaming up with heroes like Wolverine and Spider-Man, but one memorable partnership was with Daredevil – though it began with a conflict, like many of his alliances. This team-up happened in a 2009 five-issue comic series called Deadpool: Suicide Kings, created by Mike Benson, Adam Glass, and Carlo Barberi. The story also featured Spider-Man and the Punisher. It started with Daredevil rescuing Deadpool from the Punisher, who was trying to kill him, and then the two worked together to prove Deadpool’s innocence. The story highlighted how Daredevil’s calm and strategic thinking balanced out Deadpool’s unpredictable nature.
7) Power Man & Iron Fist (Daredevil #178)

Daredevil often teamed up with Luke Cage and Iron Fist, known as Heroes for Hire, and they became incredibly popular—even joining forces with Jessica Jones as the street-level team, the Defenders, on Netflix. But their very first adventure together, in Daredevil #178 (1982), remains a classic. In this story by Frank Miller and Klaus Janson, Foggy Nelson hires Heroes for Hire to guard Matt Murdock, leading to a misunderstanding where they initially fight Daredevil. They quickly realize their mistake and team up to rescue a missing child and confront the Kingpin. This initial crossover established a strong alliance that continued in future stories.
6) Elektra (Daredevil #174–176)

Elektra is widely considered one of Daredevil’s greatest allies. Their partnership has been revisited in recent comics, even with Elektra briefly becoming Daredevil herself and striving to be a better hero, avoiding lethal force whenever possible. However, their most iconic team-up remains in Daredevil #174-176 (1981), a story that first introduced the Hand to Marvel Comics. After an attack leaves Daredevil without his radar sense, Elektra steps in to defend him. Fans consistently praise the dynamic action of Daredevil and Elektra battling ninjas together.
5) Gambit (Gambit Vol. 3)

I really loved the team-up between Daredevil and Gambit in John Layman and Georges Jeanty’s Gambit run! It was a 12-issue story where they both ended up chasing the same guy, Constrictor, who’d stolen an artificial organ. But they wanted him for totally different reasons – Daredevil wanted to bring him to justice, while Gambit needed the organ to try and save Sabretooth’s life. It led to a cool fight, and it was interesting because Gambit was the one trying to save someone, and Daredevil was focused on punishing a villain. What made it so good was seeing how Daredevil’s strict sense of right and wrong clashed with Gambit’s more flexible approach. It was a fantastic dynamic!
4) Spider-Man (Spectacular Spider-Man #107-110)

Spider-Man and Daredevil have a complicated past, initially clashing when they were younger and mistook each other for enemies. But their most memorable collaboration happened during a classic Spider-Man story, “The Death of Jean DeWolff.” When Captain Jean DeWolff is murdered, Spider-Man seeks revenge, and he teams up with Daredevil to hunt down the killer, Sin-Eater. However, their partnership is tested when Spider-Man nearly kills Sin-Eater, and Daredevil intervenes. This led to a fight between the two heroes, but it was also the moment they finally revealed their secret identities to each other.
3) Captain America (Daredevil #233)

Issue #233 of Daredevil, created by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, concluded the acclaimed “Born Again” story arc. This arc followed Kingpin’s attempt to destroy Matt Murdock’s life after discovering his secret identity as Daredevil, and Matt’s struggle to rebuild himself as a hero. In this final issue, Kingpin sends the villain Nuke to wreak havoc in Hell’s Kitchen, aiming to further torment Daredevil. Captain America arrives to investigate, and instead of fighting, the two heroes team up. Daredevil stops Nuke, while Captain America uses his authority to clear Matt’s name, bringing the story to a hopeful conclusion.
2) The Punisher (Daredevil Vol. 2, #82–87)

Daredevil and the Punisher have always clashed, mainly because Daredevil won’t acknowledge that the Punisher’s actions might be justified. While Daredevil sees Frank Castle as a murderer, the Punisher recognizes Daredevil’s good heart and tries to help him whenever possible. This dynamic played out in Daredevil Vol. 2 #82-87, written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated by Michael Lark. The story shows Matt Murdock, unmasked and imprisoned in Ryker’s Island, facing the criminals he previously incarcerated. Frank Castle deliberately gets himself arrested and sent to the same prison to protect Matt from these villains, resulting in a surprisingly effective team-up – a rare occurrence in Marvel comics.
1) Black Widow (Daredevil #81-124)

Daredevil’s longest partnership was with Black Widow. They teamed up for a significant run of issues – from Daredevil #81 to #124 – and the comic was even briefly titled Daredevil and the Black Widow (issues #92-107). The story began with Black Widow rescuing Daredevil from drowning and assisting him in defeating the villain the Owl. This period is considered one of the most important in Daredevil’s history, surpassed only by Frank Miller’s later work. The romantic connection between Natasha and Matt is still regarded as one of Daredevil’s best, second only to his relationship with Elektra.
