Over time, the Star Wars universe has shown us more and more Jedi survived Order 66. While Revenge of the Sith led viewers to believe only Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda lived through the purge, recent movies, TV shows, and even some games have proven that wasn’t quite true. The attack was devastating and nearly wiped out the Jedi Order, forcing survivors into hiding. This was especially true after the Empire began using Inquisitors to hunt down any remaining Force-sensitive individuals.
Despite the devastating events of Order 66, several Jedi managed to survive. We’ve seen how some, like Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Ahsoka Tano, escaped, while the stories of others are less clear. Considering their strength, the impact of their stories, and their actions after the fall of the Jedi Order, here are ten of the most remarkable survivors.
Barriss Offee

Barriss Offee is a fascinating character, whether you sympathize with her or not. While she’s a survivor of Order 66, she’s not one of the most prominent. During the Clone Wars, Barriss openly criticized the Jedi Order, but her actions went too far when she bombed the Jedi Temple and falsely accused Ahsoka of a crime. Later, she became an Inquisitor.
While Barriss Ömée might not rank among the ten strongest Jedi who lived through the dark times, her journey after leaving the Inquisitors shows what the Jedi Order could have become. In Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, she stops using the dark side and dedicates herself to healing with the Force. She’s no longer a Jedi in the traditional sense, but she becomes a powerful example of someone using the Force purely for good, ultimately making her a remarkable survivor.
Kelleran Beq

Kelleran Beq is a newer character in the world of Star Wars, first appearing in The Mandalorian. He quickly gained attention because he’s played by Ahmed Best, the actor who voiced Jar Jar Binks in the earlier Star Wars films. Considering the negative reactions fans had towards Best and other actors from those films, many viewers felt it was wonderful to see him return, especially as a strong and heroic Jedi who had survived.
Kelleran is a truly compelling character. He’s especially memorable for rescuing Grogu during the devastating Order 66, making him a hero and directly shaping Grogu’s journey – a journey we continue to follow in The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Jocasta Nu

Jocasta Nu doesn’t play a large role in the Star Wars universe. While she appears in The Clone Wars, her most prominent screen time is in Attack of the Clones when Obi-Wan seeks information about Kamino. However, this appearance doesn’t showcase her character well. She comes across as dismissive towards Obi-Wan, stubbornly claiming that anything not found in the Jedi archives doesn’t exist—a nonsensical and strangely arrogant position for a Jedi to take.
Jocasta Nu is a compelling character in the Star Wars comics, especially after the events of Order 66. She’s incredibly brave, even facing Darth Vader in battle with her special lightsaber rifle. Though she doesn’t survive the encounter, her courage establishes her as a notable survivor of the Jedi Purge.
Quinlan Vos

Quinlan Vos hasn’t been featured much on screen, which is a shame because he’s a really interesting Jedi who often operated outside the rules. He makes a few appearances in The Clone Wars, and the Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld comic showed how important he was in bringing Asajj Ventress back to life.
The series Obi-Wan Kenobi revealed that Quinlan Vos not only survived Order 66, but also played a vital role in the Hidden Path – a network dedicated to protecting Jedi and others with Force abilities during the difficult years following the Jedi Purge. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about his contributions in the future, but it’s now clear he was a crucial figure during this time.
Grogu

Grogu, often considered one of the most endearing characters in Star Wars, has a surprising backstory. Revealed in The Mandalorian, he’s actually a survivor of Order 66, despite appearing to be a baby. Though he looks young, Grogu is a member of the same species as Yoda and is around 50 years old. He was saved from Order 66 by Kelleran Beq.
Most signs now point to Grogu not becoming a Jedi. While he initially trained with Luke Skywalker after the events of The Mandalorian, he ultimately left Luke’s temple as shown in The Book of Boba Fett and chose to rejoin Din Djarin, embracing the Mandalorian way of life. Despite this, Grogu is still very strong with the Force and remains a rare survivor of Order 66.
Cal Kestis

Despite being a beloved character in the Star Wars universe, Cal Kestis hasn’t appeared in any of the live-action movies or TV series so far. He’s the main character in two very successful and officially-recognized Star Wars video games: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
He’s consistently shown himself to be a courageous and skilled Jedi, easily earning his place among the top 10 survivors of Order 66. Many Star Wars fans consider him one of their favorite Jedi, even though he hasn’t appeared much on screen yet. Hopefully, he’ll appear in a future movie or TV show to further develop his character, but even now, Cal is already considered one of the best to survive the purge.
Kanan Jarrus

Kanan Jarrus, originally named Caleb Dume, was an unexpected survivor of Order 66. He hadn’t appeared in the prequel films or The Clone Wars series, but quickly became a beloved character and a strong role model for what a Jedi represents.
Kanan Jarrus was a unique Jedi in the world of Star Wars Rebels. He demonstrated that Jedi could form close relationships, even romantic ones with Hera Syndulla, without falling to the dark side. He also served as a mentor to Ezra Bridger and ultimately gave his life to save his crew, solidifying his place as one of the most admirable Jedi to survive Order 66.
Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano has become a fan favorite in Star Wars, even though her introduction was unexpected. Before The Clone Wars, there was no hint that Anakin Skywalker even had a Padawan, making her seem like an odd addition. However, she quickly proved everyone wrong and became a beloved character.
Ahsoka’s relationship with the Jedi Order has been complicated ever since she left during The Clone Wars, but it’s clear she survived Order 66. In fact, clone troopers almost killed her at the end of The Clone Wars. After that, she continued to be important to the rebellion, and as seen in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, she still plays a role in the Jedi’s future.
Yoda

Yoda is a legendary Jedi Master, so it’s not surprising he survived Order 66. When his clone troopers turned on him, like they did with so many others, Yoda sensed their betrayal and was able to defend himself.
After confronting Palpatine, even though he was defeated, the future of the Jedi ultimately rested on Yoda – and one other Jedi Master. Yoda’s survival after Order 66 was particularly important, as he went on to train Luke Skywalker, solidifying his place as one of the most crucial Jedi to survive the purge.
Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi is considered the most significant survivor of Order 66. After escaping an attack by his clone troopers on Utapau, he altered a message at the Jedi Temple to protect any Jedi attempting to return. He also fought Anakin Skywalker, now Darth Vader, leaving him severely wounded, and ultimately brought young Luke Skywalker to Tatooine to ensure the Jedi Order’s future.
Despite remaining in hiding during a dark period, Obi-Wan emerged to rescue Princess Leia. He ultimately brought Luke and Leia together and enabled Luke to destroy the Death Star. Considering everything, Obi-Wan is arguably the most successful Jedi to survive the devastating Order 66.
