DC Comics features incredibly powerful women, some capable of planetary-scale feats and reality-bending abilities. While many use their powers for good, becoming symbols of hope and justice, others embrace villainy, causing widespread death and destruction. These female supervillains, hailing from across the universe and even Hell itself, relentlessly pursue domination of the multiverse and the elimination of anyone who stands in their way. When they arise, Earth’s heroes must unite their strengths to have any chance of defeating them. Despite often being overshadowed by their male counterparts, these women are formidable and dangerous foes.
Many of DC Comics’ most powerful villains – often depicted as figures embodying creation and destruction – are women driven by overwhelming pride and a desire to control everything across multiple universes.
10) Faora Hu-Ul

Faora Hu-Ul is the most dangerous of General Zod’s followers. This cruel warrior thrives on fighting and conquering. She participated in Zod’s attempt to overthrow the Kryptonian government and was sent to the Phantom Zone, which saved her when Krypton was destroyed. As a master of the Kryptonian martial art Horo-Kanu, Faora is incredibly skilled at swiftly and precisely disabling or killing her opponents. Combined with her natural Kryptonian powers, which are boosted by yellow sunlight, this makes her a formidable and almost unstoppable fighter. She’s proven she can go toe-to-toe with DC’s strongest heroes, even defeating Superman and Wonder Woman. No other Kryptonian loyal to Zod possesses Faora’s combination of brutality, power, and refined fighting skills.
9) Brainiac Queen

Brainiac, a powerful villain from outer space, once built a queen to be his partner. The result was the Brainiac Queen, a frightening being capable of easily destroying entire armies – even those of the formidable Czarians, Lobo’s race. Her robotic body is incredibly strong and lets her create all sorts of weapons. After crashing on Earth with amnesia, she was tricked by Amanda Waller into hunting down people with superpowers. This terrifying cyborg can hack into Earth’s computers and internet, absorb energy to become more powerful, and even weaken Kryptonians by emitting red sunlight. She can even turn Kryptonians like Jon Kent into robotic drones, stripping them of their free will.
8) Lady Blaze

Lady Blaze is a tremendously powerful being born from the unlikely union of the wizard Shazam and a demon. As one of Hell’s strongest entities and its current ruler, she constantly seeks to gain power by collecting mortal souls. She’s proven capable of defeating even incredibly powerful heroes like Shazam, Black Adam, Supergirl, and Lobo. Beyond her immense strength, Lady Blaze is a skilled sorceress, rivaling Doctor Fate, with abilities including shapeshifting, manipulating souls, seeing the future, transforming matter, and controlling darkness. Her power has grown dramatically since becoming the ruler of Hell.
7) Enchantress

June Moone, also known as the Enchantress, is one of the most powerful magic-users around. She’s a witch from another dimension who took control of June Moone’s body, bringing her immense and dangerous magic to Earth. The Enchantress is incredibly unstable and her powers can warp reality on a global scale. She’s demonstrated this by causing bizarre events like making it rain teeth, combining people into a single monstrous being, starting wars, and even causing terrible tragedies. She’s proven herself capable of defeating even powerful teams like the Justice League, as well as formidable magic users like John Constantine and Zatanna.
6) Grail
Wonder Woman and her deadly enemy, Grail, were born at the same time. Grail is the daughter of the powerful Darkseid and a skilled Amazonian warrior, making her a uniquely dangerous opponent. She’s incredibly strong, can’t be killed by normal means, and has been training in combat for centuries. Her heat vision is powerful enough to destroy even Superwoman’s defenses, and she’s already broken Wonder Woman’s bracelets. Beyond her physical abilities, Grail is a brilliant strategist who has manipulated a Green Lantern’s power ring, seriously injured heroes like Wonder Woman and Shazam, and unleashed attacks felt across vast distances. Most infamously, she used dark magic and the Anti-Life Equation to bring Darkseid back to life, bending him to her will.
5) Doctor Hate

Raven has always worried about losing control of her demonic side, and Doctor Hate embodies that fear. Doctor Hate originated when Raven’s evil half was split off and became a twisted version of herself. This clone made a deal with Amanda Waller and gained the Helmet of Hate – a dark mirror of the Helmet of Fate, worn by the powerful sorcerer Doctor Fate. Combining the magic of both Raven and Doctor Fate, Doctor Hate is incredibly powerful. She’s known for terrible acts, like turning Beast Boy into a carrier of a plague that transforms people into animal-human hybrids. She’s even managed to trap and steal the power of the Spectre, demonstrating just how formidable she is.
4) Cythonna

Even the advanced civilization of Krypton believed in gods, and some of them were incredibly dangerous. Cythonna, the Goddess of Ice and Darkness, wants to wipe out all life and light. After being locked away by Krypton’s other gods, she broke free and targeted Superman – one of the last survivors of her home world and its most powerful being. Her power is immense; she can freeze entire planets and easily defeated Superman with a single blow. Superman himself considers her one of his toughest opponents ever. Even a trip to the sun wasn’t enough to destroy her, only weakening her enough for him to have a chance to win.
3) Hecate

Unlike other magic users, Hecate, the Greek goddess, is magic itself. She was the first being to wield magic, appearing at the very beginning of time. Using incredibly powerful, ancient magic, Hecate created the divide between our world and the dangerous Dark Multiverse. After being betrayed by the Greek Gods, she vowed revenge and became an enemy of Wonder Woman. As one of the oldest deities and the most skilled magic user, Hecate’s power is almost limitless. She’s commanded armies of the dead, manipulated Wonder Woman, destroyed the Parliament of Trees, defeated powerful creatures from other universes known as the Otherkin, and even changed the fundamental rules of magic.
2) Perpetua

Perpetua is a tremendously powerful being from a race called the Hands, and she originally created the entire DC Multiverse. She was imprisoned by her own people within the Source Wall when she tried to use the multiverse as a weapon. After millions of years, Perpetua broke free and attempted to regain control of everything she’d created. As a being from a higher dimension, she unknowingly creates and destroys galaxies, and can easily reshape reality, wield planets like weapons, and obliterate entire universes. Not even the combined power of the Monitor, Anti-Monitor, and World Forger could defeat her, and her conflict with the Darkest Knight put the entire DC universe at risk.
1) Pralaya

Before any other powerful beings existed, there was Pralaya – the living embodiment of the empty void that came before everything. When Pralaya awoke, her sole purpose was to erase all of existence, returning it to the nothingness from which it came. As an all-powerful being, she easily destroyed the entire multiverse using an army of creatures called Time-Gremlins, which devour everything they encounter. Pralaya is far more powerful than any other being, even the multiversal Green hivemind, and simply looking at her can shatter a person’s sanity. Uniquely, Pralaya actually succeeded in her plan – she destroyed all of time, space, and reality, along with every living creature and god. Even the creator of the Omniverse, known as the Presence, is threatened by her incredible power.
