*Spoiler warning for the ending of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man*
We have a lot to dig into following the ending of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
The show features deaths that happen away from the screen, as well as some violent deaths shown on screen. However, it definitely marks the end of the Shelby family’s reign over Birmingham’s criminal and political landscape.
Though this season might be the last for Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his family as we know them, the story isn’t over. A new series continuing the Peaky Blinders saga is already planned for BBC and Netflix.

Even though Cillian Murphy’s character won’t be involved, there are still many potential options for the story, and that influences the direction it could take.
Now that the Peaky Blinders movie has finished, here are the most important questions fans are asking.
10 Peaky Blinders questions we have after THAT ending to The Immortal Man
1. What’s next for Erasmus “Duke” Shelby?

It looks like Duke Shelby is now prepared to fully take over from his father, Tommy Shelby, becoming the new leader of the Peaky Blinders – and aiming to be a more respected and upright one.
With the previous generation of Shelbys passed away, Duke now holds the position of family elder and leader.
Barry Keoghan is likely to star in the upcoming Peaky Blinders sequel, but he’ll have a challenge following Cillian Murphy’s performance.
We also anticipate seeing Elijah Hayes, Duke’s right-hand man, return – played by actor Jay Lycurgo.
2. Will we continue to see Kaulo Chirklo?

Rebecca Ferguson’s character, Kaulo, is important in ‘The Immortal Man,’ and is even considered a continuation of the legacy of Polly Gray. Because of this, many fans expect her to have a bigger part in the upcoming sequel series.
Rebecca Ferguson is a popular actress in Hollywood, and she currently stars in the TV series Silo, which has just finished filming. With production complete, she now has more free time.
We have a feeling Duke Shelby will rely on her unique abilities and advice as the story continues.
However, Ferguson gave a mixed response to the prospect of a return when speaking to TopMob magazine.
Ferguson told Michael Hodges, “I never say no.”
She added that Kaulo was incredibly important to the film, but she doesn’t believe every character needs a follow-up story. Sometimes, she feels, it’s okay to leave things unresolved.
3. Will Hayden Stagg continue to play a role in the franchise?

Though many expected a larger part for Stephen Graham in Peaky Blinders season 6, his role ended up being fairly minor. He later reappeared as a key supporter of Tommy Shelby in the series, The Immortal Man.
I was really happy to hear Steven Knight say he wants Graham to stick around! It sounds like we can expect Stagg to be a mentor figure to Duke in future seasons, which I think is a great idea.
In the absence of key Peaky icons, Graham can add an air of authority and prestige to proceedings.
4. Have we seen the last of Charlie Strong, Johnny Dogs, and Curly?

Charlie, Johnny, and Curly, three of the original Peaky Blinders, are now elderly. Considering their close relationship with Tommy, it might be fitting to conclude their stories alongside his.
Despite facing The Immortal Man, and with Duke feeling disconnected from his father, these new characters might serve as a way to keep Tommy’s influence alive in future episodes.
5. Will Charles Shelby play a bigger part in the future?
You know, watching season 6, Tommy made this really interesting point about Charles. He basically said Charles could be the ‘good’ to Duke’s ‘bad’ when it comes to who eventually takes over everything I’ve built. It’s like Charles represents the potential for a legitimate side to the business, a contrast to Duke’s more ruthless approach.
After everything that happened, Charles joined the army and began building a more stable life. He had been raised by his stepmother, Lizzie Shelby, and was now seeking a fresh start.
The story mentions he was in Africa during World War II, and he briefly appears – without speaking – at Tommy’s funeral in the last scene of The Immortal Man.
I’m really wondering if we’ll see Charles step up as a key player in the next season. Could he be the one to truly represent the Shelby family’s legacy and bring a sense of legitimacy back to their operations? It’d be a fascinating shift, and I’m hoping the writers explore that possibility.
6. Will Karl Thorne and his sister Elizabeth Younger return?

I’m really excited to see Karl Thorne in the new series! He’s Ada Shelby and Freddie Thorne’s son, and apparently he’s helping his mum with her job as a Member of Parliament. It’s cool to see the next generation getting involved.
Karl witnesses Ada’s murder by Beckett and is shown offering support to Ada’s daughter, Elizabeth Younger, at her mother’s funeral. Elizabeth, who was named after Aunt Polly, is the daughter of Ada and Colonel Ben Younger.
Now that Karl and Elizabeth represent the latest Shelbys, will they come back?
Considering how Duke played a part in Ada’s death, would Karl understandably feel resentful?
7. Will we see Lizzie Shelby again?

Natasha O’Keeffe plays Lizzie Shelby, Tommy Shelby’s second wife, who doesn’t appear in this installment. She left him at the end of the previous season after their daughter Ruby died and he had an affair with Lady Diana Mitford (played by Amber Anderson).
After these events, Tommy’s son, Charlie – whose mother was Grace – was raised by Lizzie, though she wasn’t included in the movie’s story.
Considering how significant Lizzie was to Tommy throughout the show and then to Charles, is it possible we might see her story explored again?
8. Will we ever see a comeuppance for Sir Oswald Mosley and Diana, Lady Mosley?

Sir Oswald Mosley, the main villain in seasons five and six, led Tommy to believe he was terminally ill. It wasn’t until the very last episode that Tommy discovered the deception.
Oswald and his wife, Diana, were responsible for ruining Tommy’s life in the show’s final season and faced no consequences. They even married in Germany with Adolf Hitler attending the wedding.
The characters faced consequences in real life when they were imprisoned during World War II, but this event isn’t shown in the series and happened before the story of The Immortal Man begins.
It feels a shame to deprive the audience of the characters’ downfalls, so could we see them again?
9. Will we ever hear again from Gina Gray and her evil uncle Jack Nelson?

As a fan, one thing that bothered me about the ending was what happened to the villains. We saw Tommy’s cousin, Michael, get what he deserved, but Gina and her uncle Jack Nelson just walked away scot-free. It felt unsatisfying that they didn’t face any consequences for their actions.
The finale suggests the Nelson family’s power in Boston has been weakened, but we don’t see the ruthless gangster Jack or his manipulative partner, Gina, after that.
Will they rear their heads in the sequel series?
8. What happened to Finn Shelby?

This feels like a key relationship fated to be tackled in the sequel series.
In a poignant scene in The Immortal Man, Tommy remarks to Ada’s body that he’s the only Shelby sibling remaining. This will likely lead viewers to question what happened to Finn Shelby, the youngest brother, who was last portrayed by Harry Kirton.
In the season 6 finale, Duke banished the character from both his family and the Peaky Blinders, fearing his careless talk and defiance would put everyone at risk. Before leaving, Finn vowed to get revenge on his uncle, Duke.
Since we don’t know what happened to Finn in the movie, will he return in the next series to oppose Duke?
9. What on earth is going on with Alfie Solomons?

Despite not being in The Immortal Man, many fans are still hoping to see Tom Hardy reprise his role as Alfie Solomons in the future.
The character, known for his vibrant personality, seemed to die at the end of season four. However, he unexpectedly returned as a ghostly figure in season five and then appeared much more like his old self in season six. He only has scenes with Tommy, but he mentions current events, leaving viewers unsure if he’s truly back or not.
Was Tommy actually talking to a ghost, or was he simply imagining the conversations? This question is still open, and director Steven Knight has strongly suggested the latter in interviews.
Either way, an on-screen confirmation would be great!
10. When and where does the show go next?

I think we’re already getting a peek at what’s coming next, thanks to the announcements from the BBC and Netflix about their new seasons. It’s exciting to finally have some idea of what they’ve been working on!
In 1953, Birmingham, England was rebuilding after extensive damage from World War II, using concrete and steel to create a brighter future.
As a huge Peaky Blinders fan, I’m so excited for this next chapter! It looks like the fight for control of Birmingham’s massive rebuilding project is going to be absolutely epic – a really intense, almost legendary struggle. The city is brimming with both incredible possibilities and serious threats, and, of course, the Shelby family is right in the thick of it, as always, with everything getting pretty violent.
Steven Knight, the creator and writer of Peaky Blinders, excitedly announced a new development for the show’s story.
The new project will be based in Birmingham and will share the story of the city’s recovery after being heavily bombed during World War II.
“The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride.”
