Production is underway on *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, and this fourth solo movie for Spider-Man is expected to be a major release for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s currently the only Marvel Studios film scheduled to come out before *Avengers: Doomsday*, and it boasts a cast full of familiar faces and new takes on classic characters. Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man, alongside Jon Bernthal reprising his role as the Punisher. They’ll be joined by Michael Mando as Scorpion (previously seen in *Spider-Man: Homecoming*) and Marvin Jones III as the Marvel villain Tombstone. The movie will also feature the strongest Avenger, and a first look has just been revealed.
Recent set photos from *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* confirm that Mark Ruffalo, known for playing The Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has started filming his scenes. While it was already known The Hulk would play a significant role, these photos offer a first look at his involvement. It’s still unclear how the movie will balance Spider-Man’s interactions with The Punisher, The Hulk, and several villains, but Ruffalo’s appearance has excited fans and hints at something special for the wider MCU.
Marvel May Finally Let Banner Hulk Out in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Recent video and photos from the set of *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* show Mark Ruffalo filming a scene on a London street. He was seen lying on a stretcher and being loaded into an ambulance, according to people watching the shoot. While it’s not yet known how this fits into the movie’s story, fans are speculating that Marvel might finally show Bruce Banner transforming into the Hulk on screen after over ten years.

Although Mark Ruffalo has played Bruce Banner/Hulk in several Marvel movies and the *She-Hulk* series, his character hasn’t had a full, on-screen transformation since 2012’s *The Avengers*. That first transformation, complete with his famous line “I’m always angry,” was a highlight of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since then, the Hulk’s changes have happened off-screen.
While *Avengers: Age of Ultron* showed Bruce Banner turning back into the Hulk, all of his transformations *into* the Hulk happened behind the scenes. Since then, we’ve only seen brief attempts to bring the Hulk out, like in *Avengers: Infinity War*, but they weren’t successful. After that, the Hulk has either simply walked into a scene already transformed, or Banner has appeared as just a normal human.
Recent photos and videos from the set of *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* suggest that Bruce Banner’s transformations into the Hulk might finally be happening on screen again. For a while, rumors have pointed to a return to Hulk’s more aggressive and primal form, with Spider-Man and The Punisher potentially teaming up to stop him. While these videos of Mark Ruffalo don’t definitively prove this, they do show him as Bruce Banner, hinting that the Hulk’s appearance is coming soon – and fans are excited to see it! Hopefully, when the Hulk does return, it will live up to the high expectations of those who have been waiting for his comeback.
