Based on your geographical location, the Summer Gaming Season is still underway, and what better way to conclude it than with Gamescom? Opening Night Live seems jam-packed with announcements; the Future Games Show offers intriguing possibilities; even Xbox’s two days of live streams are brimming with well-known games. With an abundance of exciting events on the horizon, let’s explore 15 major announcements and reveals coming up at Gamescom! Let’s begin with…
Silent Hill f Trailer
The popular game series Silent Hill f has been known for its emphasis on combat and multiple endings. Despite this, due to the eerie style of writer Ryukishi07 and artist kera, it seems like we’ve only barely touched upon its true unsettling nature. A new trailer is set to be revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live, and it will also air during day 2 of Xbox’s broadcast. Perhaps we’ll finally get a taste of the madness before its release next month.
Lords of the Fallen 2 Reveal
The anticipation for CI Games’ Lords of the Fallen 2 is building, as it serves as a follow-up to the 2023 title. With numerous updates, revisions, enhancements, and even a price reduction, one wonders what innovations the sequel will bring to the Souls-like genre. The developers may choose to unveil the storyline at Gamescom Opening Night Live, but considering its 2026 release date, it’s likely we’ll only get a glimpse of the plot, with the finer gameplay details kept under wraps for now.
ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X Release Date and Prices
If it’s accurate, Microsoft is expected to disclose the release dates for the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X on August 20th, simultaneously making pre-orders available. Both portable PCs are rumored to hit stores on October 16th at prices of €599 and €899 respectively. It’s believed that they will offer enhanced features to entice consumers.
Hollow Knight: Silksong (Anything)

Anticipation mounting once more? It’s possible, as Hollow Knight: Silksong might unveil a release date or even a fresh trailer. The game is playable at both Xbox and Nintendo booths, and Team Cherry has hinted that it will come out before the ROG Xbox Ally event. However, plans can still shift, but for now, it seems that one of the most eagerly awaited games could finally see its day in the sun.
Resident Evil Requiem
Experiencing a fresh perspective on Capcom’s upcoming horror series title? We’re all in! On August 19th at Gamescom Opening Night Live, this mysterious game may unveil some hidden details. Attendees will have access to a playable demo, but rumors suggest that Aesthetic Gamer will share new screenshots, gameplay footage, and early impressions on August 20th. With so much upcoming information, it seems we’ll be getting a Leon character reveal (or something else exciting) soon!
Ninja Gaiden 4’s New Trailer
Among the games I’m eagerly waiting for this year, Ninja Gaiden 4 has been impressively stunning in almost every demonstration. Considering the amount of gameplay and previews we’ve already seen, it’s doubtful a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live would add much more. However, I’m confident that there will be more stylish, action-packed combat, which is all I truly desire.
Where Winds Meet
After completing its final beta testing, it’s more likely that Everstone Studio’s large-scale open-world action RPG will soon have a release date. It seems fitting that this announcement might happen at Gamescom, where the game was initially unveiled around three years ago. With all components now in place, and considering the impressive combat demonstrated, the expansive world size, and the dedication to detail evident so far, there’s a strong possibility that this could be another successful launch for NetEase.
Honor of Kings: World Trailer

Compared to other games, Honor of Kings: World is currently in an unusual position. It received updates earlier this year from GDC, which featured appealing gameplay, but since then, there haven’t been many significant developments. Nevertheless, with a new trailer shown at Opening Night Live and a playable demo available on the show floor, it’s possible that Tencent has some exciting news to share, such as a release date or even a beta version.
The Division 2’s “Big Project” Announcement
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got to admit that The Division 2 is still going strong when other live service titles seem to be stumbling or fading away. Massive Entertainment has some exciting panels lined up for Gamescom week, but what really has me intrigued is the rumored “big project” announcement for The Division 2. With the recent launch of Battle for Brooklyn, it’s safe to speculate that we might be getting a massive new expansion. Fingers crossed, this could open up a whole new region to delve into and take our end-game experience to the next level!
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Release Date
There’s been talk about the Game Informer cover story or rumors from retailers hinting at October 21st as the release date, but the long-awaited role-playing game seems to be in active development. The team at The Chinese Room has been busy over the years, and the idea of revisiting the World of Darkness setting with a densely populated city is intriguing. All that remains now is an official announcement, and what better place for that than Gamescom?
Crimson Desert Gameplay
Regarding Crimson Desert, its release date has been moved from late 2025 to Q1 2026. However, the game remains on schedule for a playable demo at Gamescom. It’s possible that fresh gameplay footage may be unveiled either during Opening Night Live or Future Games Show, though Pearl Abyss might choose to share it online during the week to satisfy fans unable to get hands-on. Although a release date announcement is unlikely at this stage, we can expect an update on how much the game has developed since the last gameplay reveal.
Phantom Blade Zero’s New Trailer

On August 20th during the Future Games Show, there’s likely to be a new trailer release for Phantom Blade Zero. However, it has already been shown quite a bit of gameplay footage. So could this announcement possibly be about a long-awaited public demo? Given its high profile and the potential to generate even more excitement, it seems plausible. If nothing else, it would further fuel the hype surrounding the game.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s Release Date
As a dedicated Nintendo fan, I can’t help but wonder about their next big move, particularly regarding Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, a project that’s been brewing since 2019. Despite the challenges, there’s been a persistent rumor of its launch this year. In fact, a playable demo for the game has been confirmed at Gamescom, which suggests a release date announcement might not be far off. However, whether we’ll hear about it during Opening Night Live remains to be seen.
Little Nightmares 3 Returns to the Carnevale
At the Future Games Show, another highly anticipated game is Little Nightmares 3 by Supermassive Games. As for the release date, it’s been announced, yet there’s an air of mystery surrounding it, which seems fitting. This could be why they’re revisiting the Carnevale level from the Little Nightmares Showcase, offering a sense of familiarity with some fresh excitement. Needless to say, we’re eagerly awaiting to find out more!
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando
Since its announcement in 2023, there’s been curiosity about where Toxic Commando might be currently working or developing. Focus Entertainment has mentioned a release this year, but details beyond that are scarce. However, it’s possible that closed playtests have been happening, as suggested by a leak in July last year. With Saber Interactive being quite busy recently, if Toxic Commando is set to appear at events like Opening Night Live, they could potentially reveal an open beta at least.
