2 of the 3 Big New PS5 Games This Week Are PS5 Pro Enhanced

This week saw three major game releases for the PlayStation 5. Two of them have been specifically enhanced for the PS5 Pro, while one hasn’t. A 66% support rate for the PS5 Pro is actually quite positive, especially since many recent big games haven’t bothered to support the console. It seems some developers are still prioritizing other platforms, which might indicate the PS5 isn’t performing as well in sales as they’d hoped.

Despite the release of three major PS5 games this week, only two will take advantage of the new PS5 Pro. However, given the extra cost of the Pro console, the improvements aren’t particularly significant. For one of these games, it’s not even obvious what benefits the upgrade offers.

Battlefield 6 – Enhanced

With *Battlefield 6* on the PS5 Pro, you’ll get a sharper picture than on the standard PS5. On the base PS5, the game runs at 1440p resolution with 60 frames per second in Fidelity Mode, while the PS5 Pro boosts that to 2160p at the same frame rate. If you prefer faster action, the base PS5’s Performance Mode delivers 80 frames per second at 1280p, and the PS5 Pro improves on that with 1620p while maintaining 80 FPS. These aren’t massive improvements, but they are noticeable. So far, EA has been a strong supporter of the PS5 Pro, optimizing their games for the new hardware.

Ghost of Yotei – Enhanced

We were expecting a clear explanation of how the PS5 Pro improves PlayStation games, but so far, details are scarce. Sucker Punch Productions, the game developer, has only stated that the PS5 Pro offers “enhanced visuals and performance” without specifying what those improvements are.

Digimon Story Time Stranger – Not Supported

Players hoping for improvements to the new Bandai Namco RPG on the PS5 Pro will be disappointed, as there are currently no plans to add them. Unlike EA, Bandai Namco hasn’t heavily supported the upgraded console, so this isn’t entirely unexpected. While other games could greatly benefit from the PS5 Pro’s extra power, *Digimon Story Time Stranger* likely wouldn’t, making the lack of support less of an issue.
