2 People Found Dead Inside Director Rob Reiner’s Los Angeles Home

A tragic discovery was made at Rob Reiner‘s home.

On December 14th, police discovered two people deceased at the Los Angeles home of Rob Reiner, the 78-year-old director of When Harry Met Sally, and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, according to NBC LA.

Firefighters found a man and a woman dead inside the location. They were estimated to be 78 and 68 years old, respectively.

Detectives from the Robbery Homicide Division went to the home, according to a statement to NBC News. Authorities have not yet released the names of the people who died.

TopMob News has reached out to Rob’s rep and authorities for comment and has yet to hear back.

Oh my gosh, Rob Reiner! I mean, everyone knows he directed masterpieces like The Princess Bride and Stand By Me, but did you know he started as an actor? It’s amazing! He was Michael ‘Meathead’ Stivic on All in the Family – and he was so good! He was barely out of his teens, maybe early twenties, when he landed that role. It’s just… incredible to think about where he started, considering how huge he became! His parents, Carl and Estelle Reiner, were legends themselves, and he just carries on that amazing legacy.

I remember when Rob – you might recognize him from Hulu’s The Bear, where he acted with Jeremy Allen White – first considered a name change. It was quite a while ago, actually, and it’s something he’d been thinking about for a long time.

He remembered his father realizing he was concerned about living up to his father’s reputation. In an October 2025 interview with 60 Minutes, he explained that his father asked him what name he’d like to use instead. He replied, ‘Carl,’ simply because he admired his father and wanted to be like him.

Rob’s directing career took off with the 1984 film This Is Spinal Tap, and he’s been working as a director for decades since.

While building his career, Rob was married to filmmaker Penny Marshall from 1971 to 1981. They had a daughter, Tracy Reiner, and remained connected until Penny’s death in 2018.

Eight years after that, Rob married Michele, whom he’d met while working on the movie When Harry Met Sally. They later had three children: Jake, Nick, and Romy Reiner.
