2007 DS and Wii Game Reportedly Coming to PlayStation and Xbox for the First Time

A game originally released for the Nintendo DS and Wii in 2007 is supposedly coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X – marking its debut on those platforms. Recent reports suggest this release will happen soon, specifically on November 18th. While an official announcement hasn’t been made yet, the quick approach of the reported release date indicates one is likely to happen very soon.

According to Billbil-Kun, a highly accurate source of industry information, MySims: Cozy Bundle – which includes both MySims and MySims Kingdom – will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on a specific date. This release coincides with the end of the game’s exclusivity on Nintendo Switch. MySims: Cozy Bundle first launched on Switch on November 19, 2024, and then came to PC earlier this year.

Additional Details

The upcoming EA release will cost $40 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, effectively $20 per game. This pricing is consistent with the cost on Nintendo Switch and PC. Players will be able to purchase the game both digitally and as physical copies in stores.

About the Game

The MySims: Cozy Bundle is a combination of the games MySims and MySims: Kingdom. MySims, released by EA in 2007 for the Nintendo DS and Wii, is a spin-off of the popular The Sims series. While it received a Metacritic score of 68 – a fairly average rating – it still sold a remarkable four million copies.

A year later, in 2008, MySims: Kingdoms was released on the same platforms. It was better received than the first game, especially on the Wii, where it earned a score of 76 on Metacritic. The DS version received a lower score of 58. Sales for MySims: Kingdoms were comparable to those of the original MySims.

Nintendo DS and Wii games haven’t been frequently re-released on newer systems. But it looks like some DS titles are finally coming to Nintendo Switch Online! When games from these older consoles do reappear, it’s more exciting than just a simple attempt to capitalize on nostalgia.
