Originally released on the Nintendo Switch in 2019, a popular game is getting an updated version for the new Nintendo Switch 2 console. This “Deluxe Edition” will include fresh content and is scheduled to launch on September 25th. Just like the first game, this updated version will initially be available only on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The game is called *The Touryst*, developed by Shin’en Multimedia. This studio previously released *Fast Fusion* for the Nintendo Switch 2 in June. While they’ve made other games, Shin’en Multimedia is most recognized for *The Touryst*, which is why it’s being re-released instead of their other titles.
About the Game + What’s New
The Touryst is a well-received action-adventure game, scoring an 84 on Metacritic and earning high praise from players online – it has a 90% approval rating on Steam, for example. While it wasn’t a mainstream hit, it’s become a fan favorite and is getting a re-release six years after its initial launch. This updated version includes a brand new island and monument to explore, complete with new quests and items. The game’s visuals have also been enhanced thanks to the increased power of the Nintendo Switch 2. Originally notable as one of the few games capable of 8K resolution, that feature won’t be available in this new release.
The price of *The Touryst Deluxe* on the new Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t known yet, but it will likely be higher than the current standard version, which costs $19.99. A price between $24.99 and $29.99 seems most probable. It’s unlikely to cost more than that, and it definitely won’t be cheaper than $19.99.
