For the next 24 hours, you can get a popular 2023 role-playing game—often compared to Pokemon—for free from the Epic Games Store. If you have an Epic Games Store account (which is free to create), you can download the game before December 28th. A new free game will be available then, but Epic Games isn’t revealing what it is just yet. This is a great chance to get one of the year’s best RPGs without paying its usual $20 price.
Epic Games Store is currently giving away Cassette Beasts for free. The game has been very well-received, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam – its highest possible rating – based on feedback from over 5,750 players, with 95
An Open-World RPG Like Pokemon
I’m really excited about Cassette Beasts! If you’re like me and loved Pokemon, you’ll probably enjoy this too – it’s an open-world RPG where you collect monsters and battle in turn-based fights. But what really sets it apart is that you can fuse any two monsters together to create totally new and unique creatures. It’s a really cool idea!
You’ve landed on New Wirral, a faraway island where people use unusual creatures to fight. Your goal is to figure out how to get back home.
“Amazing Creature Collector Game”
One player described the game as a fantastic creature-collecting experience with a fresh take on gameplay and charming character designs. Battles aren’t just about simple strengths and weaknesses; they require real strategy. The story is engaging, and the boss battles provide a good challenge. If you enjoy creature-collecting games, this one comes highly recommended.
If you missed Cassette Beasts on Xbox Game Pass, now’s your chance to get it free on the Epic Games Store! It’s no longer available through Game Pass, making this a limited-time offer. Be warned, though – this RPG is addictive! You can expect to spend around 20 hours playing through the main story, about 30 hours if you explore some side quests, and over 50 hours if you aim to complete everything in the open world.
Okay, so there’s still no official announcement about a sequel, but the developers did send out a survey a while back that kinda suggested they were thinking about one. Right now, they don’t have anything new announced, but considering the last game came out only three years after the first one (2020 to 2023), I’m hoping we’ll hear something soon. If they keep that pace, we might even see a new game drop next year!
We’d love to hear your thoughts! Please leave a comment or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum.
