A PlayStation 5 game released this year is being removed from the PlayStation Store on November 18th – that’s less than 24 hours from now. This means you won’t be able to buy the game digitally after that date. If you already own it, you’ll still be able to play it. While the game isn’t entirely online-based, it does include online features, and those servers are currently still running with no announced plans to shut them down.
From now until November 18th, players on PS5 and PS5 Pro can still buy Football Manager 2024. After that date, it will no longer be available for purchase. Players on the older PS4 console don’t need to worry, as Football Manager 2023 wasn’t released on that system. This change won’t affect most PS5 players, as many who wanted the game likely already bought it over the past two years. Plus, the newer version, Football Manager 2026, just came out earlier this month, making the 2024 edition a bit older. However, Football Manager 2026 has received mixed reviews and isn’t as popular as the previous version. The reason for removing Football Manager 2024 is simply because the game’s licenses have expired.
About the Game
Football Manager 2024 came out on November 6, 2023, created by Sports Interactive and published by Sega. The Football Manager series has been around since 2004, so new versions aren’t always revolutionary. However, Football Manager 2024 introduced a highly requested feature – the ability to continue saved games from previous versions – and also added Japanese football leagues. It received a score of 84 on Metacritic, which is typical for the series, and performed much better than the later release, Football Manager 26, which only scored a 69 – a low point for the franchise. Because of this, some players still prefer Football Manager 2024 over the newer version.
Sega isn’t offering a sale on Football Manager 2024 before it’s removed from the PlayStation Store. If you still want to buy it, you’ll have to pay the full price of $59.99. It’s worth noting that the game has already been removed from all other platforms, with the PlayStation 5 version being the last one available.
