FX’s Alien: Earth was a standout sci-fi series in 2025. As the first TV show in the Alien franchise, it acted as a prequel to the 1979 film by Ridley Scott, offering a new take on the classic Alien universe. Fans were already excited about the show’s renewal for a second season, and now the addition of a well-known actor from Game of Thrones has created even more buzz.
Peter Dinklage will be joining the cast of Alien: Earth for its second season, according to Deadline. While details about his role are currently unknown, he’s expected to be a main character. Filming for the new season is scheduled to begin in May at Pinewood Studios in London.
What Can Fans Expect From Season 2 of Alien: Earth?
Although Peter Dinklage’s role remains unknown, viewers have a general idea of what to expect in the second season of Alien: Earth. The first season introduced Wendy (Sidney Chandler), a young hybrid who came to Earth and revealed a major threat to the planet. Season two will likely focus on Wendy and her group of hybrids as they face the arrival of Xenomorphs and other aliens after a spaceship belonging to Weyland-Yutani crashes into Prodigy City. With Weyland-Yutani forces also headed to Earth, it’s possible Dinklage’s character will be connected to them.
Don’t expect to see the Predator universe collide with the world of Alien in the show Alien: Earth. Last year, the show’s creator, Noah Hawley, confirmed that a Predator won’t appear in season two. He believes filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg is handling the Predator franchise – including films like Prey and Predator: Badlands – exceptionally well and wants to keep the two universes separate.
I heard Noah Hawley talking about a potential ‘Prey’ show, and he doesn’t seem to be involved, at least not right now. He really praised Dan Trachtenberg’s work on ‘Prey’ – he’s a big fan, just like me! It sounds like Dan has a clear vision for where he wants to take that franchise, and they haven’t connected about collaborating on anything. Basically, it doesn’t seem like Noah is planning on working on it, and he’s letting Dan lead the way, which I think is great.
