The long-awaited Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen has finally arrived and is already proving to be incredibly popular. While the first few episodes were previously shown in the Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution movie, they’re now available to stream worldwide. Crunchyroll is offering the season in many regions, but Netflix is currently limited to select parts of Asia. Although the first two seasons are available on Netflix in the U.S., fans will have to wait for Season 3. Despite this, the show is a huge success on Netflix, ranking as the second most popular non-English TV show globally with 3.1 million views between January 6th and January 11th, 2026, according to Netflix Tudum.
I’ve been following the show closely, and it’s been amazing to see its popularity! According to FlixPatrol, it actually hit eighth place on Netflix’s daily top TV show list on January 13th and then ninth on January 14th. Season 3 officially launched on January 8th, 2026, but we’re still waiting to hear when it’ll be available on Netflix. Luckily, Crunchyroll is releasing new episodes every Thursday! Since the first two episodes were a special one-hour premiere, we can expect Episode 3 to drop on January 15th.
What Is Happening in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3?

The story has become much more intense and tragic after the devastating events in Shibuya. This incident was the deadliest attack on sorcerers in decades, possibly even centuries, resulting in the deaths of many sorcerers and thousands of innocent civilians, and fundamentally changing Japan. At the heart of the destruction was Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, who temporarily possessed Yuji Itadori and caused widespread death.
Ever since Gojo vanished, Yuji has been overwhelmed with guilt, not knowing the elders are using this as a chance to eliminate him. They’ve always been afraid of Yuji’s potential as a vessel for Sukuna, and now that Sukuna has taken control, their fears are realized. Without Gojo to stop them, the elders have decided to get rid of Yuji for good. They’ve tasked Yuta Okkotsu, a second-year student at Jujutsu High, with killing Sukuna’s vessel.
Even though Yuta pretended to be angry with his teammate, his real goal was to protect him, as Gojo had asked. With the Culling Game about to begin, the sorcerers will encounter both new friends and enemies as they work to free Gojo. This arc is the longest in the series and will be adapted into anime across two parts. Throughout it, fans will finally discover the true motives of the series’ main villains, Kenjaku and Sukuna.
