Every year, anime fans gather at conventions, screenings, and other events around the world, helping the art form grow. While the United States hosts many of these gatherings, Japan has its own exciting events, especially for popular anime series. Anime Japan, which started in 2014, has become the biggest anime event in the country. Now, after more than ten years, organizers have given a sneak peek at the 2026 event and teased some major announcements to come.
Anime Japan, a major anime convention, will be held from March 28th to 31st. A new promotional image showcases some of the popular anime series that will be featured, and announcements are expected. Previous participants have included well-known studios like Animate, Aniplex, Bandai Namco, Toei Animation, and many others. A special online event called “Kickoff” will stream on January 16th, hosted by voice actors Yuki Kaji and Saori Hayami, offering a sneak peek at what’s in store.

Last year’s event showcased popular series like My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, One Piece, Naruto, Fire Force, and Dandadan, among numerous others. If this year follows the pattern of previous Anime Japan conventions, we can anticipate exciting announcements that will shape the future of anime.
Even if you’re not in Japan, you’ll still be able to find out about the big news coming out of Anime Japan this spring. In the past, many of the event’s presentations have been broadcast online, letting fans watch the announcements themselves. Just be aware that the time difference means you might have to stay up late to catch everything live if you’re in the U.S.
