John Wick Chapters 1, 2, and 3 coming to HBO Max soon
Starting in 2026, fans will be able to stream the first three John Wick movies – starring Keanu Reeves – on HBO Max. According to ComicBook.com, all three films – John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum – will be available beginning January 1st, 2026.
The John Wick action series began in 2014 with a film directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad. It quickly became incredibly popular with a dedicated fanbase. The first movie introduced audiences to Keanu Reeves as John Wick, a retired assassin who is forced back into the criminal world after a personal tragedy sets off a series of violent events. Critics generally loved the film, with an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 225 reviews.
John Wick: Chapter 2, which came out in February 2017, takes the story to a larger scale. Keanu Reeves’ character, John Wick, is obligated by a past promise to a powerful Italian gangster, Santino D’Antonio, and must go to Rome to repay a debt. But he quickly becomes the target of hitmen from around the world when a bounty is put on his head. The film received positive reviews, earning an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 283 reviews.
Released in May 2019, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum intensified the action. After breaking the rules of the High Table, John Wick is cut off from the assassin world and a $14 million bounty is placed on his head. This leaves him fighting for his life without any support from the network he once relied on. The film received positive reviews, earning an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 358 reviews.
Keanu Reeves stars as John Wick throughout the series. The films also feature strong performances from actors like Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Laurence Fishburne.
