WWE has several storylines happening at the same time across all its programs, and they all unfold differently. Some build very slowly, others appear and disappear from focus, and some rush to a quick conclusion. However, certain storylines start strong but then stall, either going in circles or never reaching a satisfying finish. Right now, there are three specific storylines in WWE that feel stuck and aren’t progressing.
3. Bayley’s Split Personality
Okay, so there’s this storyline happening right now on Raw that’s still playing out each week. Basically, Lyra Valkyria is really struggling to figure out if she can trust Bayley. They’ve been going back and forth with this for weeks, and honestly, it feels like they haven’t really moved forward at all – we’re still stuck in the same spot we were a month ago. It’s a little frustrating as a viewer, you know?
The Bayley storyline began with a lot of promise, showcasing her internal conflict through compelling video packages. This conflict was meant to explain her unpredictable behavior towards Lyra. The plan was to continue developing this unstable side of her character and eventually move the story forward, but it feels stuck in its initial stages. While the story still has potential, it currently feels repetitive and isn’t progressing.
2. Randy Orton’s Rivalry with Cody Rhodes
This storyline feels like it’s going nowhere, constantly revisiting the same idea ever since Cody Rhodes first won the Undisputed WWE Championship. While Rhodes regaining the title from John Cena briefly reignited interest, with hints from both WWE and Orton, it seems to be repeatedly delayed in favor of other matches. These other storylines don’t feel as significant to Cody Rhodes personally as a rivalry with Orton would be.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton share a long and interesting history, and their recent friendship has been enjoyable to watch. However, a rivalry between them would be incredibly captivating, especially in a one-on-one match with both men clearly opposed. Fans have wanted this feud since Rhodes’ initial victory, and WWE is currently building anticipation by hinting at it periodically without fully committing.
1. The Return of Ron Killings
The surprise attack by R-Truth on John Cena at Money in the Bank really stunned fans. It was a clear sign that WWE had heard the criticism after R-Truth’s recent release. The moment was shocking, and R-Truth followed it up by cutting off his braids and introducing a new persona – Ron Killings – effectively retiring the R-Truth character.
For a short time, Ron Killings showed a lot of promise as a serious singles competitor, with some matches and short video packages highlighting his new intensity. However, he quickly reverted to his R-Truth character, and the storyline about this more focused version of Killings was mostly forgotten, with only occasional references from other wrestlers. While R-Truth is always entertaining, it’s a shame the potential of this interesting character arc wasn’t fully explored. It doesn’t seem like WWE plans to revisit it, so we’re left with fond memories of when Ron Killings truly made an impact.
