I’m so thrilled to see *KPop Demon Hunters* finally getting the recognition it deserves! Critics didn’t love it when it came out in 2022, but it’s now absolutely dominating Netflix! Seriously, it’s the most popular movie on there right now, consistently topping the charts. It’s amazing to see it up there with titles like *Karate Kids: Legends* and *10 Things I Hate About You* – clearly, audiences are loving it even if the critics weren’t impressed. It just proves that sometimes, the viewers really know best!

Krystin Ver Linden’s first film as director, *Alice*, premiered on Netflix on September 30th and quickly became one of the platform’s top 10 most-watched movies. The film stars Keke Palmer as a woman who escapes slavery on a Georgia plantation and finds herself in the American South after the Civil Rights Movement. Despite receiving negative reviews (a 29% score on Rotten Tomatoes) and a limited theatrical run that earned only $373,000, *Alice* has found a larger audience on Netflix. According to data from the week of September 29th to October 5th, it was the seventh most popular movie in the United States, though specific viewership numbers haven’t been made public.

Despite receiving negative reviews from critics, the movie *Alice* is currently performing well on Netflix. *The Hollywood Reporter* called it a promising but flawed first effort, while *RogerEbert.com* criticized it as overly simple and afraid to take risks. However, even with these criticisms, *Alice* is a worthwhile film and did receive some positive feedback.

The film *Alice* tells a captivating story about slavery, finding strength, and seeking revenge. Reviewer Monique Jones from Common Sense Media called it a “surprisingly good film,” and Andrea Thompson of A Reel of One’s Own believes it will be a rewarding experience for viewers who embrace its unique direction. Edward Douglas of The Weekend Warrior notes that the movie truly shines once it moves beyond the initial setting and delves into its more inventive plot.

The strongest part of *Alice* is Keke Palmer’s performance. Critics widely praise her compelling portrayal of a woman who desperately wants freedom and justice. Damon Wise of *Deadline* noted the film is consistently interesting thanks to Palmer, who carries it with grace and simplicity – a role that could have easily overwhelmed another actor. Emilie Black from *Cinema Crazed* called Palmer’s acting “powerful and on point.”

Alice, which holds a much better 60% audience rating, is now streaming on Netflix.
