4 EastEnders spoilers next week

1. Ben Mitchell returns to Walford – will Callum Highway confess his affair?

Honestly, the scenes at Jonno’s funeral really got to me. It was heartbreaking, but what I found particularly powerful was seeing Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) step up. She really pulled the Mitchells together to be there for Callum – a total testament to her strength, you know? It was a key moment showing the family rallying around him during such a tough time.

Callum requests that his partner, Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), not attend the funeral to prevent raising eyebrows. However, Kathy unexpectedly witnesses them sharing a kiss.

Following her conversation with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and the rest of the group, Callum finds himself facing a confrontation with Phil, Kathy, Billy (Perry Fenwick), Honey (Emma Barton), Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman).

However, Callum shares some blunt but honest opinions with Johnny, then clarifies that he is genuinely committed to their relationship. He also wants Johnny to attend the funeral.

Johnny convinced Stuart to come, and Kathy, along with the rest of the family, decided to keep Ben in the dark. They agreed that Callum would tell Ben and Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) the truth himself after the funeral, on the condition that he followed through.

Callum was in agreement, but he was surprised when Ben unexpectedly appeared, prepared to be with him at the graveside.

Okay, so as a total soap fan, here’s what’s going on: Johnny and Stuart are really scrambling to hide the fact that Callum has betrayed someone – it’s a whole mess! And over in Walford, it’s a happy reunion! Kathy and Phil are absolutely over the moon to see Ben again. It’s good to see some positive moments amidst all the drama, honestly. Walford is never dull, is it?

He informed his parents that he’d been moved to a prison in the UK after providing information about his cellmate, and that he was allowed temporary release to attend the funeral.

Phil and Kathy are preoccupied with what’s going on between Callum and Johnny, and Johnny attempts to convince Callum to not say anything about it.

However, Callum is determined to inform Ben. The question is, how will Ben respond when he learns his husband has been unfaithful and now wishes to end their marriage to be with Johnny?

Once Ben was back in prison, Kathy and Julie Bates (played by Karen Henthorn) urged Phil to stop by and see Ben before heading to the airport.

Where is Phil off to, and can he support Ben?

And as for Callum, will he come to regret his choice?

2. Joel Marshall and Tommy Moon spark an incident at school as toxic masculinity story takes a dark turn

Okay, so in this scene, things get really tense between Joel and Vicki Fowler (played by Alice Haig). They’re having a fight because Joel starts expressing some seriously outdated and, frankly, offensive views about women. It’s uncomfortable to watch, honestly. Then, Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) steps in, trying to defuse the situation and smooth things over. He’s clearly trying to be the voice of reason, but it’s a tricky spot for him to be in.

Joel strongly responds and walks out, leaving Ross and Vicki unsure of how to handle his actions.

The following day, there’s an incident at school, started by Joel and Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall).

This situation is causing discussion among people in the community, as parents and teenagers talk about the events and how damaging online content can be.

Disagreements happen between friends, parents, and kids, and these are often made worse by differences in age and how people see gender, which shapes how they understand what happened. It’s common for everyone to have a different viewpoint because of these factors. More information can be found here.

Ross and Vicki, along with Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), attempt to challenge Joel and Tommy about their prejudiced beliefs regarding women. However, things escalate dangerously when Joel physically assaults Vicki at their home!

After this individual episode airs, a related documentary will be released. This documentary will delve deeper into Joel’s story and the broader subject matter.

But with Joel’s attitude now exposed to the outside world, what will he do next?

EastEnders Investigates: The Manosphere will be shown on Thursday, October 9th at 8pm on BBC Three and iPlayer.

3. Eve Panesar-Unwin shocks wife Suki Panesar-Unwin with baby proposition

Following the sale of their house, Ravi, Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy), Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) and Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) find themselves needing to move back in with Suki, much to their dismay.

Suki attempts to build bridges with them, and Avani encourages Suki to reach out to Eve.

The pair agree to go for a drink at The Albert, where things get off to a rocky start.

Eve shares her desire to adopt a baby with Suki, which comes as a surprise to Priya when she later catches Suki looking into the adoption process. Priya is clearly shocked by this revelation.

The family share their judgement of Suki as a bad mother, warning her off the idea.

Suki heads off to speak to Eve, but what will the couple decide?

4. Teddy Mitchell tries to catch out Ravi Gulati as groomed Kojo Asare collapses

A smitten Harry and girlfriend Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) return from their weekend away.

Harry is shocked when Kojo suddenly falls ill at The Arches, and he discovers Kojo is still secretly working for Ravi and Tobias ‘Okie’ Okyere (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu).

At the same time, George returned home to see how Kojo was doing after Phil told him what happened. However, George was too worried and Kojo responded by distancing himself.

When Harry attempts to discuss the issue with Ravi, he’s sent away. Consequently, he seeks assistance from his father, Teddy.

Teddy dissuades Harry from turning himself in to the police, promising to sort Ravi out.

Ravi tells Teddy to leave his business. As a result, Teddy asks Harry to distract Kojo and Gina. Meanwhile, Teddy attempts to follow Ravi to Kojo’s apartment to expose him.

When Ravi and Okie return, Teddy is forced to hide in the bathroom.

As for Harry, he evades George’s questions, as the pair grow concerned for Kojo.

Gina and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) tell George to stop interfering with Kojo, but Harry is worried when he finds out Okie has arranged a car show for Kojo outside of Walford, realizing it’s likely a scheme for something illegal.

Can Harry and Teddy save Kojo?
