4 Minor Star Wars Characters Who Deserve Way More Attention

The continued success of Star Wars is largely due to its classic story of good versus evil and the large-scale battles seen throughout the original films, the prequels, and various spin-off shows. But the conflict between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance features a huge cast of characters, far beyond just the most famous ones.

Though characters like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo often get the most attention, many other people throughout the Star Wars saga are just as crucial to the story, even if they have smaller roles.

4) Lobot

Lobot is a standout character from The Empire Strikes Back. He works for Lando Calrissian and manages the computer systems of Cloud City. He’s a good example of how regular people can become involved in the galactic war.

You know, I’ve always thought Lobot was a seriously underrated character. He’s incredibly brave – he really stepped up to help gather the stormtroopers and bought Cloud City some valuable time against the Empire. It’s easy to focus on the bigger heroes, but Lobot genuinely put himself in danger fighting against them, and I don’t think people talk about that enough. He was a true hero in his own right.

3) Ima-Gun Di

Okay, so Ima-Gun Di… I get why most people wouldn’t recognize the name. He was only in one episode of The Clone Wars. But honestly, that one episode made him so compelling! I really think he deserves his own series or at least a miniseries. There’s a lot of potential there, and I’d love to see more of his story.

This Jedi Master bravely defends the Twi’lek people and fights against the droids, ultimately sacrificing himself on Ryloth. Despite his heroism, his story is overshadowed by a more prominent storyline focused on Jar-Jar Binks and Bail Organa, causing it to be largely overlooked.

2) Plo Koon

Plo Koon is a Jedi Master featured in Clone Wars. He’s a skilled general who fights bravely in numerous battles before tragically dying in a starfighter accident near the war’s end. His death is particularly sad because it happens during a moment of celebration, and many fans feel he deserves to be remembered as one of the most prominent Jedi Masters, but he often isn’t.

While Koon is best known for his final battle, he was a significant military leader beforehand. More notably, he was a member of the Jedi High Council near the end of the Galactic Republic, proving his leadership skills extended beyond the battlefield to times of peace.

1) Kelleran Beq

Kelleran Beq quickly became a fan favorite, despite only appearing briefly on The Mandalorian. In just over a minute of screen time, he played a crucial role in saving Grogu during the events of Order 66.

Even though he was only in the story for a short time, Beq quickly won over readers. He’s a memorable character and many fans are hoping to see more of his story in the future.

I’m really curious – which lesser-known Star Wars character do you think deserves more screen time? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Let’s chat about it over on the ComicBook Forum.
