Shueisha’s *Weekly Shonen Jump* magazine and *Shonen Jump+* platform are home to a huge variety of popular manga, covering genres like fantasy, sports, everyday life, and suspense. For decades, *Shonen Jump* series – from classics like *One Piece* and *Dragon Ball* to newer hits like *Kagurabachi* and *Ichi the Witch* – have been a major force in the anime and manga world. While many popular series quickly gain recognition, some hidden gems only find their audience after being adapted into anime. As the anime and manga industry continues to grow, hundreds of new series debut each year, and many of them are based on titles from *Shonen Jump*.
With 2025 coming to a close, anime fans are already looking forward to a great year in 2026! Four manga from *Shonen Jump* are confirmed to be adapted into anime, and three of them will premiere next year. These series already have strong followings and could become some of the most popular new anime stories.
4) Kindergarten Wars

I’ve been following the news about *Kindergarten Wars* by You Chiba, and while we don’t have a release date yet, details are starting to emerge. From what I’ve gathered, it’s a really funny series with lots of gags and genuinely endearing characters who each have their own issues. The story takes place at *Kindergarten Noir*, which is known as the safest kindergarten in the world – and it’s exclusively for the children of the rich and famous.
These children, whose families wield considerable power, are frequently targeted by assassins. Luckily, their teachers are highly capable of keeping them safe. Rita is an exceptionally skilled teacher, but she’s struggling to find a boyfriend. Her quest for the perfect partner often leads to comical mishaps, even when dealing with dangerous situations.
3) Kill Blue

Tadatoshi Fujimaki, the author and artist behind Kuroko’s Basketball, recently announced that his manga Kill Blue will be adapted into an anime. The manga finished in September, and the anime is scheduled to premiere next year. The story is a unique mix of spy action and high school humor, leading to both exciting and funny moments.
The story centers on Juuzou Oogami, a highly skilled 40-year-old assassin who works for a secret group. After a mission goes awry, he unexpectedly begins to transform into a 16-year-old boy. To understand what caused this strange change and find a way to return to his adult form, Juuzou goes undercover as a high school student, all while trying to hide his true age.
2) Marriagetoxin

Packed with exciting action, compelling characters, and sweet moments, *Marriagetoxin* is a standout romance series from Shonen Jump. It centers around Hikaru Gero, a highly skilled hitman from a centuries-old family of assassins. Despite being unmatched in his profession, Hikaru lacks social skills due to a life spent in the shadows and never attending school.
He wasn’t looking to get married, but his family pressured him to find a wife and have a child, worried their family line would end. Desperate, he proposes a fake marriage to Mei Kinosaki, who is notorious for scamming people through marriage, offering her a place to live in exchange for her participation.
1) Akane-banashi

Despite being a potentially overlooked gem, *Akane-banashi* is a series gaining attention for its unique focus on Rakugo, a traditional Japanese storytelling art. While its themes keep it from being widely known internationally, it’s recently developed a dedicated following. The upcoming anime adaptation has generated surprising excitement, especially because it features a female lead in a *Weekly Shonen Jump* series – something rarely seen. The story centers on Akane Osaki, a high school student determined to master Rakugo, fulfilling a childhood dream and investigating the mysterious circumstances surrounding her father’s expulsion years prior.
Shinta Arakawa was a highly respected Rakugo storyteller until he was unexpectedly dismissed just as he was about to reach the top rank, shin’uchi. Now, his daughter Akane is determined to become a shin’uchi herself, aiming to clear her father’s name and right the wrongs he faced in the traditionally male world of Rakugo storytelling.
