The storyline also introduces a new plotline centered around Gray Atkins’s grandmother, Sheila Ruskin.

5 EastEnders spoilers for next week

1. Libby Fox returns as mum Denise discloses her blood cancer diagnosis

Denise is still avoiding calls from the hospital, saying she wants to process her medical diagnosis when she’s ready. Jack Branning is worried about her and has talked to Phil Mitchell about how they might be able to help her face the situation.

The Fox-Trueman family rallies around Chelsea and Jordan Fox, but Denise can’t help but notice Kim Fox’s engagement ring. Kim and Howie Danes’s exciting news brings a welcome reason for celebration, and the family starts planning a party at The Vic.

But while everyone else is in good spirits, Chelsea can’t help noticing that Denise has zoned out.

She’s shocked when Phil unexpectedly shows up and reveals he’s aware of her leukemia. Angry that her private diagnosis has gotten out, she tells him to leave, even though he’s trying to offer support.

The evening’s festivities become charged with emotion when Jack and Phil show up at The Vic. Worried they’ll reveal her secret, Denise has trouble staying calm.

Kim became overwhelmed while giving a touching speech and rushed to the restroom, with Chelsea right behind her. At first, she didn’t want to talk about what was bothering her, but she eventually went back to the pub and revealed some very upsetting news to everyone.

After finally sharing what happened, Denise goes home and tries to compose herself before calling the hospital – a call she’s been dreading. The news sends ripples through the family, leaving Kim shocked to learn Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) was already aware of the situation. Meanwhile, Chelsea connects with Libby.

Denise is about to spend a month in the hospital, and her family promises to support each other and help her recover. At the same time, Jack turns to his brother, Max Branning, for help.

It was incredible to see Libby come back to Walford after nearly a decade! She returned to be there for her mum, and even though things were strained with Chelsea at first, it was so heartwarming to see them finally connect and share a really special moment. It felt like all the old hurt was set aside, just for a little while.

At the hospital, Denise started treatment focused on ensuring a stable future for her and her family.

Before they start, Denise asks Libby and Chelsea to promise to take care of each other. The sisters agree, and also decide to see if they can donate bone marrow.

2. Chelsea Fox meets up with Gray Atkins’s grandmother Sheila

Chelsea discovered that Gray’s grandmother, Sheila, has been sending money to help with Jordan’s expenses, but Chelsea has never deposited the checks.

Determined to find another way forward, Libby secretly attempts to contact Sheila herself.

At The Vic, Libby gets a text from Sheila and attempts to hide it, but soon figures out what’s happening, leading to a tense confrontation.

Chelsea tells Eve she’s concerned about what the future holds for Jordan after his spinal surgery. After thinking things through, Chelsea and Libby resolve their issues and decide to work together. Chelsea then agrees to reach out to Sheila herself.

Okay, so the sisters finally managed to set up a meeting with her at Knight Fusion, and honestly, we were all on edge! Chelsea, being the one to take charge, really grilled her about Gray – she needed to know where things stood. Thankfully, we found out Sheila’s completely cut ties with him, which was a huge relief. Seriously, we could finally breathe again!

Sheila offered to help her great-grandson financially, but after initially accepting the money, Chelsea felt guilty and decided to give it back.

3. Ian Beale drops Johnny Carter’s legal representation

Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) is trying her best to help Ian cope with the stress after Jordan’s accident.

Ian believes every legal move is crucial for his future, so he becomes frustrated with Johnny Carter and fires him, feeling Johnny isn’t dedicated enough to the case. He then starts looking for a new lawyer, wanting to make sure everything is handled perfectly.

Now facing serious consequences, Ian asks Kathy for money to hire a top lawyer.

4. Bea Pollard begins to meddle again

After feeling unwell, Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) is now able to relax and spend some quality time with her husband, Billy (Perry Fenwick). She’s also relieved that their daughter, Bea, is staying with Mo Harris (Laila Morse).

Despite a seemingly peaceful atmosphere, there’s still tension brewing. Honey and Billy have a good date, but Bea accidentally overhears Billy talking about it with Alfie Moon.

Realizing this was her chance, she quickly took action and later asked Honey to join her for a drink.

5. Vinny Panesar moves in with Penny Branning

Vinny and Penny go to a meeting to discuss their plans for the baby’s birth, but it actually creates distance between them, making Vinny feel left out. Penny is still keeping the secret that Harry Mitchell is probably the baby’s father.

Vinny, wanting Penny to understand how he feels, shared his fears and promised he was completely dedicated to her and their life together. He then took a leap of faith and asked her to move in with him.
