Netflix will remove five superhero movies from its streaming library in January 2026. While new superhero content is being added, these specific titles will no longer be available starting next month.
Hulk, Blue Beetle and more superhero movies to leave Netflix
The popular streaming service is removing over 100 movies and shows, including some well-loved titles from DC, Marvel, and Millarworld.
According to a recent report from What’s On Netflix, the superhero film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be removed from Netflix in 2026. Starring Jason Momoa, this movie was the last installment in the now-discontinued DC Extended Universe and was originally released in theaters in 2023.
Sadly, the latest Aquaman movie, ‘The Lost Kingdom,’ wasn’t as well-received by critics or audiences as the first one. It earned just $440 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo, and quickly left most theaters.
Additionally, “Blue Beetle,” released in 2023, is the second DC movie leaving Netflix next month. The film stars Xolo Maridueña as the Blue Beetle superhero and was directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, marking the character’s introduction to the DC Extended Universe.
Several Marvel superhero movies are being removed from Netflix, including Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, starring Nicolas Cage, and the 2003 film Hulk. It’s important to note that these movies don’t connect to the main Marvel Cinematic Universe; they each tell a complete, standalone story about their respective heroes.
Ang Lee’s Hulk movie brought the character to the big screen for the first time, and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, released in 2011, was the second and last Ghost Rider film Sony Pictures made, though the series remains fondly remembered.
Additionally, the final superhero movie that will be leaving Netflix in January 2026 is Kick-Ass 2.
Next month, Netflix will also be losing popular movies like 8 Mile, Doctor Sleep, Hancock, Terminator 2, and Mad Max: Fury Road, among others.
