Battlefield 6 came out on October 10th, and I’ve already put a lot of hours into it – it’s my favorite first-person shooter series! Like with previous Battlefield games, the launch hasn’t been flawless.
From my testing, the game runs really well on my PC and I haven’t experienced any connectivity problems, though I know others have reported issues. However, there are a few persistent problems that, if addressed quickly, could really elevate Battlefield 6 to the next level and help it become a truly legendary title.
As a long-time Battlefield player, here are my five biggest concerns about Battlefield 6 after playing for a week.
1. Hit registration, or lack thereof
Some players have reported problems with shots not registering correctly, similar to the issue shown in this link: https://t.co/nBRv2LP6X1. If you experienced this, did it happen consistently with a specific weapon, even when switching to other weapons and back? If so, could you please share what attachments you were using with that weapon?
It’s pretty common for Battlefield games to have some network connection problems when they first launch. If you’ve experienced shots not registering correctly while playing over the past week, you’re definitely not the only one.
I’ve noticed this issue a few times and initially thought it was just a slow connection. However, I’m starting to think that’s not the case, and I have some positive news to share.
DICE has explained that the visual ‘bloom’ on weapons is meant to discourage continuous firing at long ranges. They’ve also confirmed that problems with shots not registering correctly are bugs, not intentional gameplay.
The game will show visual feedback when you hit an enemy, like blood splatters, but currently, those hits don’t actually register as damage. DICE game designer Florian Le Bihan announced on October 13th that the team is aware of the problem and is working on a fix, which is great news!
2. Sniping is way too easy when using the zeroing trick

It didn’t take long for avid Recon players to discover one simple trick that infantry hates.
Sniping in Battlefield relies heavily on accurately judging distances, adjusting your rifle for those distances, and landing shots from far away. It’s a complex skill with subtle techniques – like finding the perfect aiming point – that keep players challenged and involved.
Things have changed, though. In the latest Battlefield game, you can now automatically adjust your rifle’s aim with each shot, making it easier to hit your targets.
Now, hitting long-distance shots doesn’t take much skill – you simply need to center your aim and fire. The game automatically adjusts for distance, ensuring your bullets land exactly where you’re pointing. It’s surprising this made it into the final release!
3. Where’s the dynamic weather?

All the action in Battlefield 6 happens in bright sunlight. While that might be perfect for a relaxing day at the beach, it feels unrealistic for a war game.
I’m tired of the clear weather! I want some interesting conditions – fog, rain, anything to make things more challenging. It would be great to have fog roll in, rain make aiming difficult, and clouds darken rooms while I’m trying to capture a flag. I’m pretty sure a lot of other people feel the same way.
Also, could we perhaps schedule this for a different time? It would be really impressive to see the tanks opened at night.
4. Weapon balancing is out of whack

If you notice almost all the top players using the same weapon, regardless of their character class (especially in playlists with all weapons available), that’s a sign something’s unbalanced.
Right now, submachine guns are too powerful compared to assault rifles. It’s not right that I can easily hit and eliminate an enemy who is further away than a submachine gun should be effective at.
I’m not a fan of assault rifles right now, but they used to be among my go-to weapons in earlier versions of the game. The weapons definitely need to be adjusted for better balance.
5. Critical mission failure happens too quickly

I’ve always loved those incredible Battlefield matches where one team is getting completely crushed, but then somehow, against all odds, they manage to fight their way back and win. Those are the moments that really stick with me.
Even in Battlefield 6, one team can still dominate, but a feature called ‘critical mission failure’ frequently interrupts this. This feature triggers a timer when one team controls all the objectives, and it doesn’t give the other team much time to react.
It seems like DICE is trying to prevent players from joining matches when one team is already winning by a large margin. However, this change also makes it difficult for a losing team to turn things around. Giving players a little more time before the match ends, or even pausing the timer when a team is capturing a point, would help balance things out.
DICE is already making big changes to Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6’s progression system has been updated! We’re rolling out changes now, across all platforms, to make earning experience points faster. Specifically, you’ll now earn 10% more XP per minute of match time. These updates should be live within the next few hours. (October 17, 2025)
As I wrote this article, the team at DICE was working hard to improve Battlefield 6.
Some issues I had, such as strict time limits for vehicles and challenges that were too difficult or unbalanced, have been resolved in recent updates.
As a researcher following the game’s development, I’ve noticed DICE has rolled back some changes they made after launch. Specifically, they temporarily lowered the number of tickets in Conquest mode because matches were finishing too quickly. Now, they’ve reverted that change, restoring the original ticket count.
Given the game has only been released for a week, DICE is doing a great job of responding to player feedback and making improvements. It’s especially encouraging that they’re willing to undo changes players dislike.
I’m optimistic about the future of Battlefield 6. It feels like it has a lot of potential, and if the developers keep listening to player feedback and releasing updates, I think it could really become a top-tier game.
