5 Major DC Next Level Storylines You Can’t Afford to Miss Next Year

You likely enjoyed DC Comics’ recent All In initiative, and you’re in for an even bigger treat next year with their Next Level plans. All In, which started after the Absolute Power event last year, ushered in a fresh and exciting era for the DC Universe, appealing to both longtime fans and newcomers. DC launched many new ongoing comic series, making it easy for readers to jump in, and it also kicked off the Absolute Universe – one of their most popular projects in recent years.

With the recent conclusion of the DC K.O. event, DC Comics is launching a new chapter called DC Next Level. Thanks to previews for upcoming comics in March, we’re getting a first glimpse of what to expect. Get ready for major developments, including changes to the Green Lantern Corps and new stories focusing on the Superboys – here are 5 arcs you won’t want to miss.

5. The Flash

Okay, comic fans, let me tell you, I was thrilled to see the news: Ryan North is taking over The Flash, with Gavin Guidry joining him! Honestly, it was tucked away in the solicits, but this is a huge win for DC. North’s work on Fantastic Four was genuinely one of the best runs I’ve seen in ages. He just gets how to blend quirky science, family dynamics, and classic superhero stories. From what I’ve heard, this new Flash run is aiming for a more grounded, back-to-basics feel, but knowing North and Guidry, I’m fully expecting something wonderfully strange and beautiful to emerge. Keep your eyes peeled for this one – it promises to be special.

4. New Titans

In March, the Titans comic is getting a big refresh with a new creative team and a new name: New Titans. Tate Brombal and Sami Basri are taking over, and the team roster will also be changing. The cover art hints at the new lineup, and it looks like Yara Flor’s Wondergirl, Jon Kent’s Superman, Spoiler, and Terra will be the latest versions of the Titans. It’s a promising group, and I’m confident Brombal and Basri will do great things with them.

3. Green Lantern

Next spring, the Green Lantern universe at DC Comics is heading for some big changes. Starting with issue #600 in March, fans can expect several surprises, including a new Green Lantern and Kyle Rayner taking on the role of Earth’s protector. There’s even a possibility of a romantic connection between Hal Jordan and Star Sapphire! Meanwhile, Guy Gardner will be gaining new abilities to hunt down mysterious beings connected to the Emotional Spectrum. As a big fan of Kyle Rayner and the Green Lanterns, I’m really looking forward to seeing what the creative teams have planned.

2. Wonder Woman

Tom King and Daniel Sampere are returning to the Wonder Woman comic series with what promises to be their most ambitious story yet. The new arc, “Wonder War,” starts in Wonder Woman #31 and sends Diana to a future where the DC Universe is ruled by a ruthless leader called the Matriarch. To save the timeline and defeat the Matriarch, Wonder Woman must team up with her adult daughter, Trinity. Fans have been eager to see Wonder Woman and Trinity work together, and this new storyline seems set to deliver.

1. “Reign of the Superboys”

It’s odd that Superman is absent from the recent DC Next Level developments. His disappearance launches a new storyline called “Reign of the Superboys,” which will center around different versions of Superboy. We’ll see Superboy-Prime headlining the main Superman comic, and a younger Jon Kent taking the lead in Superman Unlimited, offering a lot of exciting story possibilities. I’m wondering what this means for Superman, particularly so soon after the events of ‘I’, but I’m really looking forward to seeing the Superboys get their chance to shine.
