5 Most Exciting Movies Still To Come in 2025 That’ll End the Year in Style

With mid-November here, there’s only about a month and a half left in the year, but there are still plenty of exciting movies coming out! From big-budget spectacles like a new James Cameron film and a musical, to smaller independent releases and even a remake of a classic snake movie, the box office will be packed as we head into next year. Here are five of the most anticipated films. We didn’t include Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair because it’s technically a re-release. Other promising movies coming out in November and December include Sisu: Road to Revenge, Rental Family, Eternity, Zootopia 2, The Thing with Feathers, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Fackham Hall, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, and Marty Supreme.

We saved these films for release in cinemas. However, there are also some new movies coming to streaming services soon, like Oh. What. Fun. on Prime Video with Michelle Pfeiffer, and The Family Plan 2 on Apple TV+.

5) Wicked: For Good

The movie Wicked: For Good is expected to be a long-running and successful film. Last year, director Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of the Oz story was well-received by both reviewers and moviegoers, and continues to be popular on streaming and Blu-ray.

The movie continues to showcase the fantastic connection between Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, who play Elphaba and Glinda. However, Elphaba is now known as the Wicked Witch of the West, creating tension between the two friends. Things are made worse by the Wizard, who’s recruited a girl from Kansas and her companions to try and defeat Elphaba.

4) Dust Bunny

Scheduled for release by the end of 2025, Dust Bunny is shaping up to be a fascinating film. The story centers around a 10-year-old girl convinced a monster is responsible for her parents’ disappearance, so she asks her neighbor—who happens to be a hitman—to help her hunt it down. He suspects assassins were after him and killed her family, but the real story might be a combination of both their beliefs.

The intriguing storyline of Dust Bunny is a big draw, but what’s really generating buzz is that it’s the first feature film directed by Bryan Fuller, the creator of shows like Pushing Daisies and Hannibal. And speaking of Hannibal, Fuller has once again cast Mads Mikkelsen in Dust Bunny. Plus, the film gives Sigourney Weaver a chance to literally shoot guns with her shoes – that alone is worth the price of admission!

3) Silent Night, Deadly Night

I’m really excited about the new Silent Night, Deadly Night! The original was so shocking, and this reboot has to bring the same level of intensity. Knowing Cineverse – the team behind the incredibly gory Terrifier 3 – is making it gives me a lot of confidence that it will be seriously scary and deliver on the gore fans expect.

Surprisingly, the newest Silent Night, Deadly Night movie is getting really good reviews – a first for this series! It’s possible we’re looking at a new horror classic.

2) Avatar: Fire and Ash

James Cameron’s new sci-fi film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, promises to be another spectacular visual experience. Returning to the world of Pandora just three years after Avatar: The Way of Water, it could be a truly remarkable movie.

The story seems to be heading in a new direction this time. Some viewers felt the previous film, The Way of Water, relied too much on the villainous Colonel Miles Quaritch, even after his transformation into a Na’vi. This time around, Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their family will face a different threat: Varang (played by Oona Chaplin), the leader of the “Ash People,” a group who thrive in volcanic environments.

1) Anaconda

While not a direct remake of the classic 90s film Anaconda, Tom Gormican’s new take promises plenty of thrilling snake-related action. The movie also boasts a fantastic cast, including Paul Rudd, Jack Black, Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, and Daniela Melchior (known from The Suicide Squad), all delivering strong performances.

For years, fans have been hoping for a proper sequel to the 1997 film. While Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid was the closest anyone got, it didn’t capture the fun, adventurous spirit of the original. This new film, though, finally seems to understand what made the first one special – and it’s leaning into the humor even more.
