5 Shonen Jump Manga That Deserve an Anime

Since 1968, Weekly Shonen Jump has been a leading source for discovering new manga, and it’s become the best-selling manga magazine ever. Fans can now easily read the latest chapters and catch up on older content, making it simple to follow their favorite creators. Shonen Jump is also known for offering a great digital reading experience. The magazine consistently delivers high-quality shonen manga, staying ahead of the curve to bring readers the most exciting new series.

I’ve noticed how many Shonen Jump manga series have become incredibly popular over the years – things like Jujutsu Kaisen, Naruto, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, and Chainsaw Man are prime examples. It’s also amazing how often these manga get turned into fantastic anime, which then draw in even more fans thanks to the visuals. With anime becoming increasingly popular worldwide, new manga from Shonen Jump often get priority when studios are looking for the next big show to adapt. I’m going to highlight five Shonen Jump manga that fans are really hoping will get anime adaptations soon.

5) Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi

I’ve always been a huge fan of exorcist manga – we’ve seen some great ones over the years, like Blue Exorcist and D.Gray-man! It feels like supernatural manga has really taken off in the last decade, and it’s been especially popular since 2020. Right now, one series everyone’s talking about is Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi. It started in Shonen Jump in 2024 and is still going strong – as of October 2025, there are around 64 chapters out, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi centers around Kiyoshi Harai, who is considered the most powerful exorcist of all time. Despite his incredible strength, Kiyoshi is deeply insecure due to a difficult childhood, creating a contrast between his abilities and his shy personality. As he fights to protect people from supernatural threats, the series offers beautiful artwork, a good balance of humor and action, and a charming, relatable main character.

4) Centuria

Few manga have explored dark fantasy as thoroughly as Berserk, but Centuria is a strong contender. Launched in Shonen Jump in 2024, it currently has over 70 chapters (as of October 2025). Centuria is visually stunning, with incredibly detailed artwork that feels perfect for animation. However, it’s best known for its sophisticated and mature story, which tackles difficult subjects with nuance and skill.

Centuria tells the story of Julian, a boy betrayed by his family and forced into slavery. While traveling on the slave ship, he connects with other slaves, especially Mira, a new mother, and her daughter, Diana. After a devastating turn of events leads to Mira’s death, Julian finds himself responsible for Diana and offered a chance at freedom and power by a mysterious sea creature. Empowered with the strength of one hundred lost souls, Julian strives to create a new and hopeful life for himself and the young Diana.

3) Gokurakugai

If you enjoy anime like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen, you should check out the manga Gokurakugai before it gets adapted into an anime. It started in Shonen Jump magazine in 2022 and currently has 30 monthly chapters available. Gokurakugai is a really engaging story that feels modern and cool, but also has a thoughtful plot and a well-developed world. It explores interesting ideas about morality, sacrifice, redemption, and finding yourself.

Gokurakugai takes place in a fantastical city where humans and supernatural beings live side-by-side. The series follows Tao and Alma, a pair of problem-solvers working in a neglected part of town, as they tackle everything from finding missing people to dealing with dangerous supernatural creatures. While the story begins with individual cases, it soon evolves into a larger, more complex narrative that examines the inequalities and biases within the city’s society.

2) Ichi the Witch

For anyone looking for a new manga with beautiful artwork and a unique take on magical training, Ichi the Witch is a standout. Launched in Shonen Jump in 2024, it already has over 50 chapters as of October 2025, and many fans are predicting an anime adaptation – and with good reason. Ichi the Witch features a particularly well-developed magic system and a vibrant, immersive world that quickly draws readers in.

This manga follows Ichi, a young man who grew up alone in the mountains, learning to survive after being left by his parents. After seeing a witch fight a powerful monster called a Majik, Ichi intervenes and defeats it, unexpectedly gaining magical powers himself. He’s brought to the capital city and begins training as a witch, challenging the tradition that only women can wield magic. Ichi is determined to master his abilities and use them to protect others.

1) Kagurabachi

I’m completely hooked on Kagurabachi! Seriously, it’s quickly become one of my favorite new shonen manga, and a lot of fans think it’s going to be huge. Everyone’s already wondering when it’ll get an anime adaptation, not if! It started in Shonen Jump in 2023 and already has almost 100 chapters as of late 2025. It’s a really compelling story, dealing with revenge, loss, and the weight of family history, all wrapped up in incredible sword fights. If you love Demon Slayer, you absolutely need to check this one out – the action is just as intense!

Kagurabachi begins with Chihiro’s father being murdered, which drives him to seek revenge. His father was a renowned blacksmith who created six incredibly powerful, magical swords, and a dangerous group of sorcerers called the Hishaku – essentially a powerful gang – wanted them. Chihiro possesses a secret seventh blade created by his father, and he embarks on a brutal quest for vengeance in a modern Japanese setting.
