Superman is a legendary comic book hero, known for his incredible adventures and countless acts of bravery. Since first appearing in 1939, he’s captivated readers with his battles against powerful villains and his role in iconic comic book stories. He not only starred in many films but also launched the entire superhero genre, fundamentally changing how we enjoy entertainment. Superman has provided generations with unforgettable moments that continue to resonate today.
Even with all of Superman’s successes, there have been some truly awkward moments in his comic book history. Over the years, the character has been involved in some pretty strange storylines that have baffled readers. Surprisingly, some of these moments were so bad they became enjoyably memorable. While many fans consider them terrible, they’ve also become fondly remembered parts of Superman’s legacy and continue to provide amusement.
5) Super Sex

Superman is exceptionally powerful within the DC universe, consistently achieving feats beyond any other character and frequently defying the laws of physics. A controversial instance involves a sexual encounter with Wonder Woman, depicted as a means of comfort for Superman after a defeat by Batman. This act is portrayed as having catastrophic consequences for Earth, triggering earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions, illustrating the immense power both Superman and Wonder Woman wield when intimately connected.
4) The Super Mullet

Let’s be honest, mullets aren’t usually a great look. But that didn’t stop Superman from sporting one in the 1990s! After seemingly dying in the famous ‘Death of Superman’ storyline and then returning, his hair had grown into a full-on mullet. Despite it not being the most stylish choice, Superman managed to pull it off. It just goes to show he can make even a questionable idea work for him.
3) A Super Stoner

It’s hard to picture Superman using drugs – he’s always been portrayed as a very moral character. But in issue #46 of the *Superman/Batman* comic, he encounters a strange type of kryptonite that has a hallucinogenic effect on him. The result is a hilarious scene where a stoned Superman devours a huge amount of cereal, dominates all the video games at the Watchtower, and even gets a craving for brownies being made in North Dakota. While the premise is silly, seeing the usually stoic Superman in such a goofy state is surprisingly funny.
2) Mini-Supermen Out of His Hands

Superman is famous for his incredible powers like flight, super strength, and X-ray vision. But over the years, he’s also demonstrated some truly strange abilities that people often forget. For example, in early versions of the character, Superman could create and launch a miniature copy of himself! While a peculiar power, it actually came in handy when he used it. Though a bit silly, this moment is amusing and shows how the superhero has changed and developed since he was first created.
1) A Super Spanking

Superman is a legendary hero in the world of comics. He’s known for always doing the right thing, so it was surprising when a 1950s comic showed his adoptive father, John Kent, spanking him as Superboy. The scene in Superboy #75 involves a mischievous Superboy receiving a punishment, but it’s a bit silly because of his super strength – a normal spanking wouldn’t even faze him! While goofy, the idea of Superman being punished for bad behavior is amusing to many fans.
