Good news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers! A new RPG from Square Enix is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X for both Ultimate and Standard members. This game offers up to 50 hours of gameplay and is part of the September Game Pass additions. While the game originally came out in 2024, the series itself has a long history, starting with the SNES and Game Boy. We don’t know how long it will stay on Game Pass, but subscribers can get a 20% discount on the game while it’s available.
The RPG *Visions of Mana*, developed by Ouka Studios, came out in the summer of 2024. It’s the fifth main game in the *Mana* series, which began in 1991 as a spin-off of *Final Fantasy*. Notably, it was the first major *Mana* release since *Dawn of Mana* in 2006, which was only available on PlayStation 2. However, *Visions of Mana* was released on multiple platforms.
About the Game
The latest installment in the classic RPG series launched to mixed reactions, earning a respectable but not outstanding score of 75 on Metacritic. The story follows Val and his childhood friend Hinna, along with the Alm of Fire, as they journey to the Mana Tree to restore the world’s flow of Mana. Players, especially those with Xbox Game Pass, can look forward to fast-paced combat focused on elemental powers, all within a large and expansive world to discover.
Should You Check It Out
Okay, so the *Mana* series is kind of like a collection of different stories. Most of the games aren’t directly connected, they just share some similar themes. *Visions of Mana* is a good one to jump in with if you’re new to the series, but honestly, it’s not the *best* Mana game out there. If you really want to see what the series is capable of, you’ll have to go back and play some of the older titles. Just be warned, those older games definitely *show* their age a bit!
Keep in mind that *Visions of Mana*, the newest addition to XGP, requires a significant time investment. While not the longest RPG available, you’ll need around 30 hours to finish the main story, and about 50 hours total if you want to complete everything the game has to offer.
We’d love to hear your thoughts! Feel free to leave a comment or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum. And if this new game isn’t quite what you’re looking for, don’t worry – many more are on the way!
