After a six-year wait, MAPPA’s most over-the-top anime is returning for a second season! To get fans excited, the opening and ending theme songs have been released early. As the current spring anime season wraps up, a new lineup is starting, including several long-awaited sequels. Among these is this exciting return from MAPPA.

MAPPA, the studio behind popular anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, took on a truly unique challenge with Dorohedoro. The anime originally aired in 2020, a memorable year for the industry due to the pandemic, and after a six-year wait, Season 2 is finally here! To mark the premiere, you can listen to the new opening theme, “Zettai Must Danmen,” and ending theme, “Return To Head,” both performed by (K)NoW_Name.

Dorohedoro Season 2 Debuts Opening and Ending Themes

Season 2 of Dorohedoro premieres globally on April 1st! You’ll be able to watch it on streaming services like Netflix and Crunchyroll, where you can also revisit Season 1. The talented team behind the first season is back, including director Yuichiro Hayashi (MAPPA), writer Hiroshi Seko, character designer Tomohiro Kishi, and composers [K]NoW_Name and Fairy_gone. We won’t have to wait much longer to see what happens next!

Season 2 of Dorohedoro will bring back the original voice actors, including Wataru Takagi as Caiman, Reina Kondou as Nikaido, Kenyu Horiuchi as En, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shin, Yu Kobayashi as Noi, Miyu Tomiya as Ebisu, and Kengo Takahashi as Fujita. Several new actors are joining the cast: Koki Uchiyama will voice Dokuga, Daiki Hamano will play Tetsujo, Yuichi Koshimura will be Saji, Katsuhito Nomura will voice Ton, Atsushi Imaruoka will play Ushishimada, and Sara Matsumoto will voice Natsuki.

Why You Should Watch Dorohedoro Season 2

Season 2 of Dorohedoro is finally here after a six-year wait, though the studio, MAPPA, had hoped to release it sooner. The series is based on Q Hayashida’s unique manga, which is getting a special release to coincide with the new season. The original manga and first season were incredibly popular due to their original characters and concepts, and fans are hoping the second season will be just as impactful.

I remember when the first season of Dorohedoro came out – it was a really unique show at a time when there wasn’t much else happening in anime. Now, the second season is arriving during a year packed with new releases, and I’m hoping it doesn’t get overlooked. Honestly though, with its incredibly strange, dark, and captivating style, characters, and stories, I don’t think it will. It really stands out.
