Dr. Doom is poised to become one of the most formidable villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making his debut in “Fantastic Four: First Steps” and set to be the main antagonist in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.” These roles are just a taste of Victor Von Doom’s long history of causing trouble for superheroes. Although he doesn’t feature often in anime productions, there are several villains within the medium who could certainly give Dr. Doom a run for his money, given his immense power. While it’s challenging to select only seven, these are some of the most impressive anime villains out there.
To set the stage, I’d like to establish some basic guidelines: Both contenders will stand face-to-face, with no prior knowledge or preparation regarding each other, ensuring a more balanced encounter. Without time to prepare, characters like Doctor Doom could potentially become invincible, comparable to DC’s Batman. If you’re not well-versed in Dr. Doom’s abilities, it’s essential to consider his formidable armor, which rivals Iron Man’s, and his magical prowess that matches Dr. Strange. Beyond these aspects, he boasts a sharp intellect that positions him as a formidable adversary to Marvel’s intellectual heavyweight, Mister Fantastic, Reed Richards. There are numerous anime antagonists to consider, but most would crumble before Doom, so let’s dive right in.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Dio Brando
From a diehard fan of Doom, it’s intriguing to consider how Dio Brando might come up short in this battle, but I firmly believe that Dio’s unique ability to halt time with his Stand, “The World,” would secure him victory. Granted, Doom’s defensive capabilities could pose challenges for the main antagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, yet I envision Dio finding a way around those obstacles, not just relying on the power of his Stand, but also leveraging his vampire prowess. Given that Dio can momentarily halt time with minimal rest, it’s plausible to imagine that even if he didn’t manage to kill Victor during the initial freeze, he would ultimately inflict a fatal blow. This becomes all the more likely when they stand directly facing each other, and since Doom is unaware of the power of the Ripple, that’s another advantage for Dio.
Naruto’s Madara Uchiha
In contrast to the perspective that Kaguya could be a more formidable adversary for Doom, we hold an affinity towards Madara Uchiha, the founder of the Uchiha Clan. Upon encountering Doom, Madara would swiftly engage him with a barrage of jutsu that would outpace the good doctor’s ability to respond. The unique sorcery techniques employed by Victor, like his body-swapping ability, could potentially face challenges due to Madara’s exceptional Sharingan and Rinnegan eyes. Despite Doom’s armored defenses, Madara might swiftly dismantle every offensive move available at Victor’s disposal.
Berserk’s Griffith/Femto
Prior to the events of Berserk’s Eclipse, it would be challenging to envision Griffith surviving a confrontation with Victor Von Doom due to his inferior strength. But once he transformed into Femto and obtained divine powers, he emerged as a formidable adversary, capable of going head-to-head with some of anime’s most notorious villains. The exact extent of each Godhand member’s power remains uncertain, but so far, no character has managed to defeat or even harm them in any way. Given Femto’s god-like abilities, it seems reasonable to expect that he will overpower Doom in their anticipated battle.
One-Punch Man’s Garou
In simpler terms, by the second and third seasons of “One-Punch Man”, Garou may not initially be strong enough to defeat Dr. Doom from Marvel Comics. However, as the story progresses, Garou becomes so powerful that he could potentially overcome Dr. Doom, even surpassing the Fantastic Four’s most formidable enemy. For those who haven’t read the manga of “One-Punch Man”, this implies a power level that would easily allow Garou to win in a one-on-one fight against Dr. Doom. Despite Dr. Doom having his own god-like abilities, he might still be defeated by Garou at his strongest point. However, it’s important to note that Saitama’s strength could potentially surpass even Garou’s peak ability.
Dragon Ball Z’s Kid Buu
Among many powerful antagonists from “Dragon Ball Z”, it’s Kid Buu who seems most capable of defeating Doctor Doom. His immense strength would likely render Doom’s magical abilities ineffective due to Buu’s incredible regeneration and durability during combat. Moreover, given that Buu can move at the speed of light, it seems unlikely that Doctor Doom could devise a strategy quickly enough to stand a chance against this pink menace. In fact, Buu’s ruthlessness and lack of intelligence might work to his advantage in this fight.
One Piece’s Blackbeard
Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, consumed two Devil Fruits, endowing him with powers that could potentially outmatch Dr. Doom in a one-on-one encounter. The Dark-Dark Fruit empowers Teach to manipulate darkness and transform into it, which may not guarantee victory alone, but his ability to control gravity due to the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, combined with his Haki energy, creates an explosive combination. To add to these extraordinary powers, Blackbeard’s intelligence and ruthlessness might rival that of Doom’s, giving him an edge in various aspects.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Sukuna
In simpler terms, Yuji Itadori’s dark alter ego, known as Sukuna, is an overwhelming force that would likely overpower Doctor Doom, even with his magical powers. Picture a torrential storm that a single umbrella couldn’t handle – that’s the destructive power Sukuna possesses. Even the legendary armor of Doctor Doom might crumble under the relentless barrage of damaging strikes from Sukuna. To avoid spoilers for those yet to read Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga, let me just say that many formidable characters in the shonen universe have been defeated by this dark curse. Fortunately, we don’t need to wait long to witness Sukuna’s return, as he will make his appearance before Doctor Doom does on screen.
