With the Fantastic Four now officially part of the main Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are eager to see which classic villains will appear next. The team recently debuted in a 2025 film, though it took place on an alternate Earth. What set that movie apart was its treatment of villains – it largely sidelined Doctor Doom (until a brief post-credit scene) and featured a remarkably comic-book-accurate portrayal of Galactus. Galactus joins a group of previous big-screen villains, including Doctor Doom from the original 2005 film and the 2015 reboot, another version of Galactus from Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Mole Man, who also appeared in the 2025 movie.
The Fantastic Four have a lot of compelling villains who could create exciting stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here are seven we’d love to see appear after the Secret Wars film resets the MCU.
7) Griever at the End of All Things

Many Fantastic Four fans may not be familiar with the Griever at the End of All Things, as she’s a newer villain who first appeared in 2018 in Fantastic Four Vol. 6 #2. Like Kang from the Loki series, she exists at the very end of time. However, instead of conquering, she revels in destruction, which immediately put her at odds with Franklin Richards, who was using his incredible powers to build new worlds. She started destroying those worlds and then targeted Franklin himself. The Griever is a complex villain, but those kinds of high-concept threats often make for the most compelling Fantastic Four stories.
6) Impossible Man

The Impossible Man would be a really entertaining villain in a Fantastic Four movie, but he’s probably better suited as a supporting character rather than the main threat – think of how the Mole Man was used in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He’s one of the team’s oldest foes, first appearing back in 1962, but he’s more of a mischievous trickster than a truly evil villain. Like characters such as DC’s Mister Mxyzptlk, he mostly just creates problems for the Fantastic Four. Ultimately, he wants to be a hero, and that could make him a fun character to include in any Marvel Cinematic Universe project featuring the team.
5) Blastaar

The 2015 Fantastic Four film hinted at the Negative Zone, but ultimately presented a strange take on the comic book’s locations and characters. Now that the Fantastic Four are joining the MCU, introducing the Negative Zone feels right, and Blastaar should be included. Though not the strongest villain from that dimension, Blastaar is a well-known character, and a monster-like villain would be a fantastic fit for a Fantastic Four movie.
4) Malice

As a movie fan, I find the character of Malice really intriguing, though she’s definitely sparked some debate. I think Marvel could really do something special with her, but they’d need to tweak her backstory a bit from the comics. Basically, Malice is this dark, evil version of Sue Storm, brought to life by a villain. The comics got a little tricky because the way Reed Richards tried to ‘fix’ things involved some seriously problematic behavior – stuff that wouldn’t fly with audiences today. But, thinking about the MCU, with Sue’s recent death and resurrection through her son, having this evil side emerge as Malice could be a powerful way to explore trauma. And honestly, Marvel’s been doing some amazing work with those kinds of stories lately, so I think it’s a great opportunity.
3) Puppet Master

Many fans of the Fantastic Four were upset that Natasha Lyonne’s character in The Fantastic Four: First Steps wasn’t the iconic Alicia Masters, but an unnamed woman named Rachel. With the Fantastic Four now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they’ll need to establish themselves in a world that doesn’t yet know them. This also creates an opportunity for The Thing to finally meet Alicia, his future wife, and potentially introduce her father, the villain known as the Puppet Master. Phillip Masters first appeared in Fantastic Four #8 and became a recurring enemy for Ben Grimm.
2) Molecule Man

Though it’s unlikely, Molecule Man would be a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Like the Sentry, he’s incredibly powerful – in the comics, he actually held Doctor Doom’s entire Battleworld together during the Secret Wars storyline. While fans of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur encountered a version of him, it wasn’t a very good one, unlike the fantastic portrayal of the Beyonder in that same series. What the MCU needs is Owen Reece, who first appeared in Fantastic Four #20, though that version wasn’t particularly well-done either. The key is to portray Owen as someone with limitless potential who just wants a quiet, ordinary life – a powerful figure who starts as a manipulated pawn but eventually breaks free.
1) Annihilus

Annihilus is the Fantastic Four villain who should appear in a movie more than any other. He first appeared in Fantastic Four Annual #6, and Earth-616 was only revealed to him because the Fantastic Four opened a portal to his home dimension, the Negative Zone. Annihilus is a powerful, insect-like being obsessed with conquest and becoming the supreme ruler. He’s a threat that exceeds even the Fantastic Four themselves. Introducing him to the Marvel Cinematic Universe could set up a major new villain, especially as the MCU explores more cosmic storylines. This could even lead to the introduction of the devastating Annihilation Wave.
