7 Marvel Heroes Batman Would Destroy

Among the most celebrated characters in comic books stands Batman, a man who excels among a multiverse inhabited by some of the mightiest superheroes and villains. In essence, Batman represents the epitome of human potential (though his psychological aspects are complex and beyond this discussion). Physically, he has honed himself to the pinnacle of human physical prowess – witness him shatter trees with a single kick or outrun others without the Speed Force. Skilled in numerous martial arts, able to regulate his heart rate and breathing at will, and one of the sharpest minds in existence, Batman can endure brutal attacks that would be fatal to most. A strategic genius, he devises successful strategies for virtually any circumstance. In combat, he is seldom defeated and even manages to subdue superpowered adversaries. He stands alone at the pinnacle of excellence.

In an exciting turn of events, Batman is set to engage in crossovers with some iconic Marvel characters – starting with Deadpool and a version of Batman from “The Dark Knight Returns.” These battles might seem unfavorable for Batman due to the characters’ regenerative abilities and indestructible bones. However, it doesn’t imply that there aren’t any Marvel heroes Batman wouldn‘t be able to defeat. In fact, there are several Marvel superheroes that Batman could potentially overpower. Here are seven such Marvel heroes who, despite their toughness, could be outmatched by Batman’s prowess.

7) Hawkeye

In the Marvel Universe, Hawkeye is a legendary figure who fights fearlessly alongside the Avengers, despite lacking superpowers. His skills in hand-to-hand combat are exceptional, and his proficiency with traditional weapons, coupled with his trick arrows, enable him to perform admirably against adversaries far beyond his league. The Ronin era further demonstrated his expertise with various weapons, highlighting his remarkable abilities. In the realm of comics, Hawkeye is among the top human heroes, but falls short compared to Batman. Hawkeye possesses an advantage in reach, yet Batman’s stealth prowess would make it challenging for him to land a hit.

Batman’s utility belt offers numerous options that could disrupt or disarm Hawkeye’s senses of sight and hearing. This is before even considering the other weapons at Batman’s disposal. Batman will do everything in his power to convert their encounter into a hand-to-hand battle, where he excels due to his superior speed, strength, and fighting skills. While Hawkeye is indeed impressive, Batman surpasses him in all these aspects, making for an exciting yet unlikely victory for the latter.

6) Iron Fist

As a dedicated movie enthusiast, let me rephrase this from Lin Lie’s perspective as Iron Fist: In the upcoming film, I, Iron Fist, will be taking center stage, though it could just as well be about Danny Rand. Known for my prowess in kung fu and the ability to harness chi energy in combat, I’ve shown I can hold my own against formidable foes. However, when it comes to our upcoming encounter, Batman is in a league of his own, surpassing me in every aspect.

Batman has honed multiple martial arts and possesses an intelligence that allows him to anticipate potential threats. Confronting someone like me with an energy fist could prove detrimental, making it necessary for him to rely on his utility belt – a treasure trove of explosives and batarangs. While our showdown is bound to go down to the wire, my past encounters with Hand ninjas (as seen in New Avengers (Vol. 1) #30-31) suggest that I may not emerge victorious this time around.

Batman’s prowess in navigating through Hand ninjas effortlessly and his superior speed make him a formidable adversary. Though I am a master of pressure points, Batman is equally adept in this area. While I excel in harnessing chi energy, Batman frequently faces energy-wielding foes, making our encounter no exception. In essence, though I am skilled, Batman’s all-round superiority means that the odds are heavily stacked against me.

5) Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi is an exceptional martial artist, renowned as one of Earth’s finest hand-to-hand combatants, boasting abilities that border on superhuman. Skilled in various weapons and a temporary Avenger, he’s undoubtedly impressive. Yet, when it comes to martial artists, Batman outshines him. Batman is stronger, arguably faster, and can endure blows from powerful adversaries that Shang-Chi might not withstand even one punch from. Even if Shang-Chi wields the ten rings or Iron Man’s nunchucks, Batman still holds an edge. His versatility surpasses Shang-Chi significantly, making him a formidable challenge for the master of kung-fu. Shang-Chi may put up a strong fight, but ultimately, Batman is his superior.

4) Elektra

Elektra, from the Marvel Universe, is exceptionally skilled in hand-to-hand combat, similar to Batman. Her father’s death motivated her to become a ninja assassin, mastering ninjitsu. She’s swift, strong, and stealthy. Despite being dangerous, she doesn’t pose much threat to Batman. Being older and wiser, Batman is more experienced in martial arts, though Elektra might be slightly faster. However, Batman is undoubtedly stronger. Elektra has defeated foes stronger than herself, but this point is inconclusive. Batman’s versatility gives him the edge. While Elektra’s weapons make her formidable, Batman’s arsenal is more extensive and adaptable. He can counter any move Elektra makes, but she can’t always return the favor. Although Elektra could land some solid blows, it wouldn’t be enough to defeat Batman.

3) Daredevil

In essence, Daredevil shares many similarities with DC Comics’ Batman in terms of combat prowess and agility within the Marvel Universe. Both characters have impressive fighting skills, with Batman typically considered stronger due to his extensive training. However, Daredevil possesses a unique advantage through his radar senses, which allows him to anticipate moves before they occur and negates Batman’s stealth.

To counter this, Batman could use one of the ultrasonic devices he employs against Man-Bat, damaging Daredevil’s ear drums and effectively rendering him blind, making it difficult for him to continue the fight. In such a scenario, Batman would likely emerge victorious through sheer physical force. Nevertheless, this is just one possible outcome, as both characters possess distinct abilities that could potentially shift the balance of power in their encounters.

2) Spider-Man

This opinion might stir some debate, but I firmly believe it. In my view, Spider-Man is Marvel’s most identifiable superhero and one of the toughest. He consistently outperforms expectations given his stature, managing to endure battles with adversaries such as Rhino, Hulk, and others who are significantly stronger than him. Unlike many other heroes, he’s quick and can withstand a tremendous amount of punishment. His spider-sense is arguably his greatest asset, enabling him to anticipate the actions of his foes before they occur.

However, Batman has certain advantages over Spider-Man. For one, he possesses an extensive utility belt stocked with gadgets that could disrupt Spider-Man’s spider-sense, such as smoke bombs, ultrasonic emitters, and flash grenades. By overwhelming his senses, Batman would aim to neutralize Spider-Man’s ability to predict his movements.

Secondly, Batman’s superior combat skills and strategic mind would give him an edge. He would recognize that his opponent is able to predict his actions, so he would strive to disarm Spider-Man’s senses. If the fight starts going against him, Batman would create distance between them and set traps for Spider-Man that he can’t avoid.

While Spider-Man is exceptional, it’s Batman’s tactical acumen that could make all the difference in their hypothetical encounter.

1) Captain America

Previously, the idea of a confrontation between Batman and Captain America seemed implausible due to its inconclusive result. I’ve always found this notion far-fetched, as neither hero was truly giving their all in that hypothetical scenario. Cap is an extraordinary figure, much like Batman who consistently emerges victorious when things seem bleakest. In a full-throttle battle, both would undeniably pour all their strength into the fray, and each has unique advantages over the other. Cap boasts greater physical power and agility, while Batman excels in combat skills. Cap is also more adept at defense, whereas Batman possesses a broader arsenal of weapons. When it comes to strategic thinking, it’s challenging to select a clear winner. Cap demonstrates prowess in grand-scale strategies, having led the forces that defeated the Builders in a cosmic conflict involving multiple alien empires. However, I believe Batman excels in intricate battle plans. In terms of overall versatility and fighting ability, Batman takes the lead, making him the likely victor. The anticipated showdown between these two icons will be awe-inspiring, but ultimately, Cap would not defeat Batman.
