The new Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, is bringing Jessica Jones back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This also creates a chance to reintroduce many of the other heroes from the old Netflix Marvel shows. Those shows existed in the MCU, acknowledging events from the films, but the films rarely acknowledged them in return. That changed with Spider-Man: No Way Home, which brought back Daredevil and sparked renewed interest in the Netflix characters.
Recent Marvel shows like She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Echo, and particularly Daredevil: Born Again have officially made the old Netflix series part of the main Marvel story. With Born Again‘s second season planning to bring back Jessica Jones, fans are now eager to see when other heroes from those shows might reappear.
7) Claire Temple
The Marvel shows on Netflix weren’t just about superheroes; they also featured many regular people trying to do good. Claire Temple was a key example of this, essentially acting as the connective tissue between all the shows, starting with her appearance in the first season of Daredevil. While it’s currently unknown what happened to her character, there’s strong speculation that Rosario Dawson will reprise the role in season 3 of Born Again, potentially with a brief appearance in season 2 to set things up.
6) Misty Knight
In season 2 of Luke Cage, Misty Knight truly becomes the character fans of the comics know and love, receiving her iconic bionic arm. While not a traditional vigilante, her close bond with Luke Cage positions her to potentially join forces with Daredevil’s team. Her background in law enforcement, combined with her fighting skills, would make her a valuable addition, possibly providing crucial intelligence on Wilson Fisk and the activities of the AVTF.
5) Elektra
Fans have long speculated about Elektra’s return, even after her death and brief resurrection in previous Marvel shows like Daredevil and The Defenders. While she seemingly died in an explosion at the end of The Defenders, rumors about the return of The Hand in future Marvel projects suggest Elektra might reappear. Some believe she could be back as early as the end of the second season of Born Again.
4) Hellcat
Trish Walker is a key character in Jessica Jones, but many viewers may not realize she became a vigilante in the show’s last season. After forcing Karl Malus to give her superpowers in season 2, she transforms into Hellcat in season 3. Despite becoming an adversary during season 3, she’s currently imprisoned in The Raft, which opens the possibility of her appearing as a complex, antiheroic ally of Daredevil in the upcoming Born Again season.
3) Colleen Wing
Besides Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, Colleen Wing is the Marvel/Netflix character fans are most eager to see return. Many viewers loved her performance in Iron Fist, and her becoming Iron Fist herself in season two opens up a lot of exciting possibilities. Including Colleen Wing in season two of Born Again would be a great way to acknowledge Iron Fist, and it would be wonderful to see her team up with Daredevil and his allies.
2) Iron Fist
If Marvel wants to fully integrate the old Netflix shows into the main Marvel Cinematic Universe, they really need to bring back Iron Fist. While Finn Jones’ portrayal of Danny Rand was often criticized, leaving his return questionable, it would feel incomplete to include the other original Defenders – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage – without him.
While Finn Jones’ Iron Fist didn’t quite shine as the main character in his own series, he worked really well as a supporting role in shows like The Defenders and Luke Cage. Hopefully, he can recapture that success in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. If the Defenders team ever reunites, it would mean another opportunity for Jones to play Iron Fist and show what he can do with the character.
1) Luke Cage
It’s looking increasingly likely that Luke Cage will rejoin the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though it hasn’t been officially announced. Mike Colter’s portrayal of the character was a fan favorite during his time on Netflix, and many viewers want to see him return. As one of the Defenders, and with Jessica Jones now back in the MCU, a return for Luke Cage seems very possible.
In the second season of Born Again, Daredevil is building a team to fight Mayor Fisk and his task force. Luke Cage would be a valuable addition, as most of Daredevil’s current allies don’t have superpowers. Jessica Jones’s strength already makes her a key player, and Luke Cage’s incredible strength and durability would make him the team’s most powerful member – practically impossible to defeat.
