Diana Prince, better known as Wonder Woman, is one of the Trinity and has been a key figure in leading the superhero realm since the Golden Age. Raised amongst the Amazon warriors of Themyscira, she honed her skills in combat under their tutelage – these women were the greatest fighters of ancient times. Masterful in both armed and unarmed combat, Wonder Woman consistently employs this expertise in her crusade for justice and truth. Alongside the Justice League, she has confronted some of the most formidable threats across the multiverse, sometimes even vanquishing the deadliest foes single-handedly. With an unwavering spirit, she approaches every battle against the worst villains with a smile, always striving to be the best she can be.
For the first time in many years, Marvel and DC Comics are teaming up once more for exciting crossovers. In the upcoming series titled Deadpool/Batman, Wonder Woman will join forces with Captain America, but she won’t have her own solo title. These crossover events bring a thrilling twist as fans get to see their beloved heroes square off against adversaries they’d never encounter otherwise. With Marvel boasting an impressive roster of villains, it’s intriguing to speculate that some might pose a challenge even for the mighty Wonder Woman. However, seven formidable Marvel baddies will prove to be her match, ultimately teaching Wonder Woman a hard-earned lesson.
7) Doctor Doom
To set the record straight, it’s evident that Wonder Woman surpasses Doctor Doom physically, as she is far stronger, swifter, and a more skilled combatant. Her Lasso of Truth is indestructible, and tearing apart his armor would be effortless for her. However, it’s important to acknowledge that Doctor Doom is not solely defined by his armor. He is one of the most brilliant minds on Earth and has mastered magic to a level that even Doctor Strange cannot match.
Doom shares similarities with Batman in that he has the uncanny ability to prevail in any situation given enough time, even defeating the Beyonders at times. In combat, Doom can adapt his strategy swiftly by utilizing his intelligence. Initially, Doom will recognize Wonder Woman’s superior strength, but it is her connection to divine magic that sets her apart.
Wonder Woman, being a daughter of the gods’ magic, would be difficult for Doom to affect drastically, but he could certainly cast spells she wouldn’t have an immediate counter for. Despite the damage Wonder Woman may inflict on his armor, once Doom erects magical shields and takes some time to strategize, it seems that this battle will be in his favor.
6) The Void
The Sentry, one of Earth’s mightiest heroes, is arguably the most powerful, having been transformed by a super soldier serum that bestowed upon him extraordinary abilities including reality-bending powers, superhuman strength, durability, speed, psychic powers, and flight. However, his potent mental issues resulted in the emergence of an alternate persona within him, which manifested as the malevolent entity known as the Void. This dark side of Sentry has been his arch-nemesis.
Initially, it was suggested that the Angel of Death from Biblical lore entered his mind, but this seems to have been revised in subsequent retellings. The Void is notorious for dismantling teams and poses a significant threat, as even powerful telepaths might struggle to reintegrate Sentry’s original personality.
Wonder Woman, despite her incredible toughness, lacks the telepathic powers necessary to subdue the Void effectively. While it’s possible that her Lasso of Truth could have some influence, the Void’s power is so immense that Wonder Woman may not get the opportunity to use it. Given the Void’s diverse array of powers, he would likely overpower Wonder Woman and even the entire Justice League might struggle against him. Consequently, Wonder Woman alone stands little chance against the formidable Void.
5) Onslaught
Among the most dangerous entities in the Marvel Universe is a powerful being known as Onslaught. Originating from an event called “Fatal Attractions”, Xavier’s mind wipe of Magneto led to the fusion of Magneto’s dark side and some of Xavier’s powers, resulting in the creation of Onslaught (though the process was never fully understood). Onslaught possesses immense psychic powers, enabling him to generate a formidable body from psionic energy. He overpowered the X-Men, growing stronger by capturing members like X-Man and Franklin Richards, ultimately losing only when his armor was destroyed, transforming into pure energy, and the heroes managed to absorb his power, providing a target for the X-Men. Over the years, Onslaught has resurfaced multiple times, retaining all of the powers he had while associated with Xavier. In combat, Wonder Woman is strong enough to deal some damage to Onslaught, but her primary weakness lies in his mental abilities. While Wonder Woman possesses defenses against psychic attacks, they are not sufficient to withstand Onslaught’s full might. Despite her best efforts, Onslaught’s superior powers would likely result in his victory over Wonder Woman.
4) Shadow King
Title character, the Shadow King, is a formidable psychic entity, comparable to Onslaught. Tracing back to the first nightmare, this being embodies the dark aspect of human consciousness across multiple universes. Over countless eras, it has tormented mankind, physically manifesting several hundred years ago when it seized control over the young mutant Amahl Farouk. The Shadow King artificially extended Farouk’s lifespan significantly, and since then, has caused havoc among humans. Known as a deity in the Astral Plane due to his potent psionic powers, the Shadow King has posed challenges even for Xavier and the X-Men, who possess the strongest telepaths in existence. The X-Men have repeatedly clashed with the Shadow King, yet struggle to gain the upper hand despite their formidable mental abilities.
The Shadow King’s ultimate goal is to dominate every human on Earth, and he possesses the capability to make this dream a reality. Although his physical form is feeble, engagements in the real world are rare for him. The Shadow King excels at mind control, particularly targeting adversaries on the Astral Plane, where his enemies lack the power he wields. Wonder Woman would encounter similar challenges against the Shadow King as she would face with Onslaught, given her lack of defenses against such immense power. Diana’s magical lineage might offer some resistance, but her susceptibility to mind control is evident. With his exceptional telepathic prowess, the Shadow King appears to have this confrontation in the bag.
3) Galactus
As a passionate movie enthusiast, let me tell you about Galan of Taa – a scientist from the brink of the last universe, delving into the mystery of the cosmic end. This cosmic event granted him the Power Cosmic, transforming him into none other than Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds. Since the universe’s inception, he’s traversed the cosmos, harnessing Heralds and consuming planets to maintain balance.
Galactus plays a significant role in the celestial order, preventing life from spiraling out of control and keeping the Celestials in check. With Marvel’s mightiest heroes and villains crossing swords with him, Galactus has tried to devour Earth on numerous occasions but has also defended the universe against threats like Thanos and the Magus.
Unlike a common foe, Galactus is not driven by malice; instead, he fulfills his purpose. Despite his immense power, Wonder Woman stands no chance in defeating him through brute force. Even if she had the opportunity to knock him out, her strength would fall short of the mark.
Beating Galactus requires more than just a well-timed punch; it demands intellectual prowess and access to technologies beyond Wonder Woman’s reach. However, an epic battle between them would create an exciting possibility: Wonder Woman as a Herald of Galactus – a prospect that has me on the edge of my seat!
2) Apocalypse
While Wonder Woman is undeniably stronger and swifter than Apocalypse, it doesn’t necessarily mean she will emerge victorious in a confrontation. Apocalypse is one of history’s most powerful mutants, boasting an array of abilities such as super strength, invulnerability, shape-shifting, psychic powers, and energy manipulation, all augmented by Celestial technology. He’s taken down groups of heroes, conquered other dimensions (as depicted in ‘The Age of Apocalypse’), and even gave Thor a run for his money. His strengths are not only physical but also mental, with psi powers that could potentially outmatch Wonder Woman. Moreover, his Celestial armor makes him nearly invincible, making it difficult for Wonder Woman’s strength to penetrate. In essence, Apocalypse has the edge in this battle due to his psychic abilities and indestructible armor, although it would undoubtedly be an exciting showdown.
1) Thanos
Generally speaking, when individuals imagine Thanos, they associate him primarily with the Infinity Gauntlet. However, it’s essential to recognize that Thanos doesn’t rely on the Gauntlet to triumph in battles, and certainly wouldn’t need it against Wonder Woman. As an Eternal, Thanos possesses extraordinary physical strength, invulnerability, limited psychic abilities, and a vast reservoir of cosmic energy. He’s an unyielding combatant who fears nothing. Despite the fact that Wonder Woman might be stronger than him, she isn’t strong enough to overpower Thanos – Thanos is Marvel Comics powerful, but not DC Comics powerful. Yet, Thanos can withstand blows from Earth’s strongest fighters (research Infinity #6 to witness Thanos fighting the most potent Avengers like Thor, Captain Marvel, Hyperion, and others). The edge he holds in this hypothetical battle is his cunning combat strategy and cosmic energies. Thanos has demonstrated the ability to defeat Thor while under the influence of warrior madness and the Power Gem (or Power Stone, as defined by the MCU naming convention; I personally prefer the original name). Wonder Woman is formidable, but she can’t outmatch Thanos in a direct confrontation. After their encounter, Thanos would hold tremendous respect for Wonder Woman, but he would decisively prevail over her.
