The Marvel Cinematic Universe is undeniably one of the most popular and successful movie franchises ever created. Starting with Iron Man in 2008, it has consistently grown into a massive shared universe, bringing beloved Marvel Comics characters to life on the big screen with a signature blend of action and humor. While the MCU is full of iconic moments, some fantastic scenes haven’t gotten the attention they deserve.
Over the years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some truly great scenes have been overlooked. While we often remember the biggest moments from both the movies and TV shows, many amazing scenes—especially those from lesser-known films—don’t get the recognition they deserve. This means some fantastic MCU moments are unfairly forgotten, even though fans would love them if they were highlighted more.
7) The Avengers Celebrate Together – Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

The movie Avengers: Age of Ultron includes a memorable scene where several heroes try to lift Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. But beyond just seeing who is ‘worthy,’ the scene is great on its own. It shows the Avengers enjoying a win, connecting with each other, and revealing their more relatable personalities. This moment of camaraderie is broken by a chilling message from an Ultron drone. The scene perfectly highlights the growing bond between the Avengers and introduces a frightening new villain, yet it doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves as one of the franchise’s best.
6) Carol Danvers Stands Up To The Kree – Captain Marvel (2019)

While critics generally liked the 1990s-set Marvel prequel Captain Marvel (2019), some fans weren’t as thrilled. The story centers on Carol Danvers, who loses her memories and is used as an agent by the Kree. The film then reveals the truth, and a key moment occurs when Captain Marvel remembers her past and breaks free from Kree control. This often-overlooked scene is a powerful moment of self-discovery, as she fully realizes and embraces her incredible potential as a hero.
5) Adrian Toomes & Peter Parker Carpool – Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

While many Spider-Man villains haven’t appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet, the first solo Spider-Man movie did an excellent job with the Vulture. Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Adrian Toomes is central to one of the best Spider-Man scenes in the franchise: when he drives Peter Parker and his date, Liz (his daughter), to the school dance. The scene is full of tension as both Peter and Adrian try to hide their identities as Spider-Man and the Vulture from Liz. It’s a really well-done moment that perfectly captures the classic superhero secret identity struggle, but it often gets overlooked when people talk about the MCU’s biggest scenes.
4) Gamora & Nebula Fight – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

I always loved the way Gamora and Nebula were first introduced – you instantly knew they had a seriously complicated history with Thanos. Their rivalry really explodes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and honestly, their fight scene is amazing. It’s not just action, though; it’s a huge emotional release as they finally get everything off their chests. It’s such a key moment for both of them, because it’s when they really start to realize how much they both hate Thanos. It’s a shame it doesn’t get talked about as much as other MCU moments, because it’s genuinely one of the best.
3) Iron Man’s First Test Flight – Iron Man (2008)

With so many iconic Iron Man scenes throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s easy to overlook some of the early highlights. One particularly impressive moment happens in his first movie, during the exhilarating test flight of the Mark II armor. This scene really lets the audience experience the thrill of becoming Iron Man, and while it’s been somewhat overshadowed by more emotionally impactful scenes later in the series, it remains a fantastic moment for the character.
2) Cap’s Speech – Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

Captain America has had many incredible moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from epic battles to deeply moving scenes. However, some of his best moments get overlooked, like a powerful speech he gives in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. After discovering that Hydra had infiltrated SHIELD, Steve Rogers delivers a short but inspiring message to the organization’s employees, showcasing his ability to motivate others. It’s a memorable scene that often gets overshadowed by his more action-packed moments.
1) The Fight In The Peace Garden – Iron Man 2 (2010)

While Iron Man 2 isn’t always praised as one of the MCU’s strongest films, its final battle is surprisingly fantastic. It features Iron Man and War Machine battling Whiplash and his drone army at the Stark Expo, in a really intense and often overlooked fight. This action sequence is a standout moment from the early MCU and deserves more credit as a great action scene.
