Without a doubt, Lobo, the infamous space bounty hunter, the Main Man, and quite simply, a threat to the galaxy and beyond (except for space dolphins, of course), is widely recognized for his long-standing history of mayhem across the DC multiverse. This history could easily be measured in centuries. However, it was only in 1983 that this character made his debut in Omega Men #3, created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen. It was here that Lobo initiated his destructive rampage against the renegade group, the Omega Men. Yet, even this initial act of chaos is mere child’s play compared to other outrageous acts that Lobo has committed throughout his career.
From outlandishly brutal acts of aggression to pushing his own mother to the brink of insanity, here are seven of the most extraordinarily absurd actions that Lobo has ever committed.
7) Became an Archbishop

In an extraordinary turn of events, Lobo once held a high religious position – as an Archbishop for the First Celestial Church of the Triple Fish-God. This role brought a brief period of peace to Lobo, inspired by his deep affection for his celestial companions, whom he called Space Dolphins. However, this tranquility was short-lived once Lobo obtained the Emerald Eye of Ekron, an artifact that reverted him back to his habitual dangerous persona. One of his initial actions as the “old Lobo” was to slay the Fish-God, a being he had formerly worshipped. It seems the Space Dolphins were no longer important to him after this transformation.
6) Drove His Own Mother Insane, From Birth

From the instant Lobo was born, his violent character was immediately clear. Instead of welcoming him peacefully, he bit off the nurse’s fingers and chased medical staff with scalpels. This terrifying incident left most of those present in a state of shock, even his own mother. Given this initial display of aggression, it’s no wonder that Lobo’s name means “the one who eats your intestines and finds pleasure in it,” a role he seemed to fulfill throughout his life.
5) Kicked Out of Both Heaven and Hell

After a fateful meeting with Lord Nytemayr, Lobo wound up in a predicament where he was forbidden from entering either Heaven or Hell. This encounter left him tormented and, in his turmoil, Lobo stumbled into Heaven only to be expelled and sent straight to Hell. But Lobo didn’t stop there, as he mocked the very image of God, earning himself a temporary residence on Earth. In true Lobo fashion, he continued to defy expectations by slaying numerous demons. However, even the depths of Hell proved insufficient for this renegade character, though it’s worth noting that such a place might as well be a playground for someone like Lobo.
4) Killed Santa Claus

Indeed, it’s accurate. In a Christmas-themed story, Lobo found himself working for the Easter Bunny, tasked with eliminating his rival – Santa Claus. This confrontation escalated into a fierce battle, culminating in a machete fight between the two. This unusual tale is among the more eccentric stories featuring Lobo, and surprisingly, it played a significant role in boosting his popularity. Rather than receiving coal that year, Lobo seemed to garner quite the attention instead.
3) Ate an Entire City

Referring to the Christmas Special incident, Lobo came back expecting payment but found out that the Easter Bunny wasn’t planning to pay. That wasn’t a smart decision on the Bunny’s part. In classic Lobo fashion, he demolished the entire Easter Bunny City, reducing it to a manageable chunk. He then consumed it. This outrageous, gruesome act is one of his most extreme feats, but for Lobo, it was just another day filled with mayhem. The scene combines violence, dark humor, and complete anarchy, perfectly embodying his character. Destruction isn’t merely what he does; it’s who he is. And the story gets even more absurd from there.
2) Annihilated Hs Entire Race

In a notoriously wicked deed within the realm of comics, Lobo perpetrates a massacre by annihilating every member of his own species, the Czarnians, in a bid for uniqueness. Fueled by a perverse sense of accomplishment and an affection for disorder, he orchestrated a brutal extinction, thereby becoming the lone survivor. There was no battle, no conflict, just cold-blooded, methodical carnage. This act wasn’t motivated by revenge or necessity, but rather vanity. This genocide solidifies Lobo as one of the most unpredictable antiheroes in comics, so detached from morality that he’s willing to obliterate an entire race.
1) Destroyed an Entire Planet by Punching a Guy

Lobo had already eradicated the entire Czarnian race, so it’s not surprising that he would obliterate an entire planet. What makes this particularly crazy is not only did he annihilate another alien race, but he managed to do so with just one punch. On Thanotopsia, Lobo struck an attacker so forcefully that the planet became unstable and collapsed into debris. Every living being was instantly wiped out, and Lobo, without a care in the world, casually strolled away. The destruction of a planet is as routine as any ordinary day for him. That’s Lobo.
