7 Strongest Non-DC Superman Copycats, Ranked

Superman is the original superhero, and continues to influence them all. He established the core idea of a hero with incredible abilities and a strong moral compass, setting the standard for the entire genre. Since his debut in 1938, superheroes have been a constant presence in comic books, and his impact is so significant that many others have attempted to create their own versions inspired by him.

Superman has inspired countless imitations – nearly every comic book publisher has created their own version of the iconic hero! While DC Comics remains most associated with Superman, other companies have developed impressive takes on the character. Some are respectful tributes, while others playfully poke fun at or completely reimagine him. There’s a wealth of these ‘Superman’ characters out there, and today we’re focusing on seven of the strongest ones not created by DC Comics, ranking them based on their power levels. These heroes stand out even among such a powerful archetype.

7) Omni-Man

As a huge fan of powerful characters in cinema, let me tell you about the Viltrumites – they’re basically what you’d get if Kryptonians were way more aggressive and focused on military strength, even leaning into some pretty harsh ideologies. Omni-Man is their equivalent of Superman, and believe me, he is incredibly powerful! Every single Viltrumite is strong enough to tear mountains apart with just their hands, but Omni-Man was exceptional, one of the strongest they had. I mean, he took down the original Guardians of the Globe all by himself! And later, he helped destroy an entire planet (okay, it was already falling apart, but still!). We’re talking about someone who can lift over a hundred tons easily. He’s unbelievably powerful in his own universe, but when you stack him up against other versions of Superman from different stories… well, he doesn’t quite measure up to the very best.

6) Plutonian

Once a celebrated hero like Superman on his planet, the Plutonian became a villain. He initially believed his incredible strength was purely physical, but he later discovered he could subtly alter reality itself, reshaping his body to perform amazing feats. His most impressive act was carrying a small black hole across the world. Considering black holes weigh billions or even trillions of tons, this accomplishment – even if it cost him his life – demonstrated just how unbelievably powerful the Plutonian truly was.

5) Gladiator

Gladiator is a fascinating Superman analogue, but his power level is inconsistent. His abilities are tied directly to how confident he feels, so they fluctuate a lot. When he’s at his most confident, though, he’s incredibly powerful – among the strongest in the Marvel Universe. He’s demonstrated feats like destroying planets and even momentarily staggering Galactus. He’s defeated many of Marvel’s most powerful heroes, including the Hulk and Hyperion, and once fought evenly with an Invisible Woman empowered by the Uni-Power. If Gladiator fully believed in his own strength, he could pose a threat to the entire universe.

4) Hyperion

Hyperion is often compared to Superman in Marvel Comics. While there have been several versions of him, many are villains or have questionable morals. He’s incredibly powerful – he once even held two Earths apart! The most dangerous version was King Hyperion, a ruthless being who traveled across multiple universes killing powerful heroes and villains like Galactus and different versions of Blue Marvel. This character is a serious threat.

3) Blue Marvel

Okay, let’s talk about Blue Marvel – seriously, this guy is insanely powerful. I mean, he’s moved meteors the size of entire states and they’ve even said he could split the moon in half with one punch! What’s really cool is where his power comes from: this place called the Negative Zone, which is basically endless. That means, theoretically, he has unlimited strength. He’s taken down King Hyperion, and casually handled Thor and the Hulk – it wasn’t even a fight, really! And it’s not just comic book stuff, either. Apparently, a tiny bit of the stuff that powers him – antimatter – could power a whole city like New York for months! Honestly, he’s a total powerhouse, and I’m starting to think he should be ranked even higher, maybe even number one – it’s so close between all these heroes!

2) Sentry

People say the Sentry is as powerful as a million exploding stars, and I agree. He’s incredibly strong, able to fight on equal footing with almost any hero – he’s the only one who could truly go toe-to-toe with World-Breaker Hulk. While Blue Marvel is also immensely powerful, the Sentry has an extra edge because he can control matter at a molecular level. He can even warp reality itself, surpassing even someone as powerful as Molecule Man. The Sentry’s biggest weakness is his fear of losing control and becoming the Void, but when he does control it, he’s essentially unstoppable. He can even overcome death, subconsciously reviving himself and others.

1) Supreme

Supreme is arguably the most powerful Superman-like hero outside of DC Comics, which is impressive because he began as a tribute to Superman’s classic stories. Initially just a typical ‘evil’ copycat, Supreme developed into something much more – a fascinating look at what makes Superman so iconic. Unlike other heroes, Supreme isn’t limited by death; he always returns stronger, able to adapt and overcome any challenge across all types of universes. He essentially has no upper limit to his power. For example, he can destroy planets easily, is even stronger than his relative Suprema (who once lifted a whole universe!), and something as small as one of his hairs could hold tons of weight. Supreme’s strength adjusts to whatever the situation demands, embodying the idea that Superman should be an unstoppable force.
