Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Fire Force manga. Based on Atsushi Ookubo’s action manga, Fire Force received an anime adaptation in 2019. Though it took four years to bring the story to animation, many fans found the wait worthwhile due to its captivating plot. The series is well-regarded for its distinctive world-building in a post-apocalyptic setting, exciting action sequences, and especially its satisfying conclusion – considered one of the best in the Shonen genre. The manga finished in 2022, while fans eagerly anticipated the anime’s continuation. After more than four years since the second season ended, Fire Force returned in Spring 2025 for a third season, which is confirmed to conclude the entire story across two parts, despite having a lot of material to cover.
The anime finished its third season’s second part in January, marking the end of the series after seven years. The final episode hinted at a continuation of the story with a new series called Soul Eater, which follows the events of Fire Force. The original Fire Force manga ran for ten years, starting in 2003, and its creator, Ookubo, has now returned with a prequel.
Fire Force Has One of The Most Satisfying Endings in Shonen

Fire Force is a series that consistently improves, even up to its very end. The many mysteries woven throughout the story all come together, making the strange world understandable as the characters strive for a brighter future. The final arc is easily among the best in the Shonen genre, delivering both exciting fights and a shocking explanation of the world’s secrets.
The fight against the doppelgängers isn’t over yet, and Shinra finds himself facing a strange new enemy while discovering a hidden ability. The story wraps up nicely with a two-chapter epilogue that focuses on what happens after the big battle, providing closure without feeling drawn out. The world is now safe from the unexplained explosions and has become strangely peaceful, despite being a bit unusual.
Our hero achieves their lifelong dream, bringing lasting peace to the world by eliminating the source of danger. This sets the stage for the world we see in Soul Eater, where new challenges arise. You can watch the entire series now on Crunchyroll, so be sure to get caught up before the sequel arrives!
