The anime adaptation of the popular manga Dr. Stone is nearing its end, with the final part of its last season premiering in April as part of the Spring 2024 lineup. The manga concluded in 2023, and TOHO announced the final season, called Science Future, would be split into three parts. Now that the third and final part is available, the story is set to finish, resolving all remaining mysteries. Fans worldwide can watch new episodes every Thursday at 7:00 A.M. The last season of the anime centers on Senku and the Kingdom of Science as they sail to North America on the Perseus. They’re trying to collect everything they need to build a rocket, fly to the Moon, and stop the enigmatic “Why-Man” from turning everyone to stone again. The series has developed significantly since they first set their sights on the Moon.
With the climax nearing, the Kingdom of Science is preparing to rebuild the shattered world and prevent another global petrification event. They’ve gained a valuable ally in Dr. Xeno, a rocket-building expert. To complete their team, they need a skilled mathematician to help construct a spaceship, and Ryusui suggests his brother, Sai. The most recent episode concludes with the Kingdom of Science deciding against a one-way trip to the Moon, as they don’t want Senku and the others to be stranded there permanently.
Originally, the group intended to turn to stone on the Moon and wait for a rescue that could take many years, even centuries. However, Chrome convinced them to build a rocket so they could return home. His determination to save his friends from sacrificing themselves is a key moment as the story heads towards its conclusion. With the final season planned for 13 episodes, the ending is fast approaching.
