In a shift from its traditional urban backdrop, the latest Silent Hill game titled Silent Hill f seems to deviate slightly from its previous mainline versions with its rural Japanese setting and apparent disconnection. However, despite this change, the recurring theme of multiple possible endings remains constant. This was confirmed by Konami and NeoBards Entertainment during a recent press event in Tokyo, as reported by Polygon.
The final scene labeled as “dog” is still uncertain, whereas the “UFO” ending has been verified. Notably, NeoBards plans to provide a conclusive ending following the completion of the narrative. This move aims to deliver a “carefully designed story,” as explained by author Ryukishi07. Multiple endings become accessible during subsequent gameplay, with availability depending on your decisions. However, there isn’t a clear-cut distinction between which endings are considered good or bad.
Beyond the existing features, you’ll find an extra mode called New Game Plus. This mode offers alterations in certain boss battles (meaning adjustments to current fights as well as new ones), fresh cinematic sequences with new plot twists, and increased opportunities for exploration.
On September 25th, the latest version of Silent Hill, titled “Silent Hill f,” will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
