Brad Pitt Gearing Up to Face-Off With Angelina Jolie for 2-Week Trial

Brad Pitt and his ex-wife Angelina Jolie are gearing up for a courtroom confrontation regarding their shared French vineyard, according to an exclusive report by Us Weekly.

On June 20th, Friday, the F1 racer disclosed in legal papers that the jury trial stemming from his lawsuit against his former partner is predicted to span a period of fifteen days, as per court documents. Similarly, Jolie anticipates it will require more than two weeks, according to court documents.

Pitt mentioned that the court date hasn’t been set yet, and there are still some motions waiting to be resolved.

The actor referred to the situation as “complicated” because it includes multiple foreign entities and counterclaims submitted by the defendants.

Previously, we shared that Pitt initiated a lawsuit in 2022, alleging that Jolie breached an agreement by selling her individual stake in Château Miraval winery without his consent, which they had previously agreed not to do.

In the year 2008, the former spouses acquired the property, which later on, Pitt mentioned that they intended to inherit by their children. He expressed in court that he invested a significant amount of effort and finances to transform Miraval into a thriving vineyard.

In 2016, Pitt and Jolie separated, yet retained ownership of Miraval. However, in 2021, it was Jolie who expressed her desire to withdraw from their joint business endeavors with Pitt.

Over the last four years, I’ve observed a fair amount of thoughtless actions, funds used in manners I wouldn’t endorse, and choices made without my input.” (In a private email to Pitt during our legal dispute, she mentioned this.)

Jolie stated, “I’ve been affected by choices that demonstrate a lack of concern for collaboration and transformation into a more kid-friendly environment.

At first, Jolie and Pitt were considering a deal where Pitt’s team would purchase Angelina’s share. As per court documents, they proposed a payment of approximately $55.4 million. This amount would be distributed: a large portion, around $46 million, paid upfront, while the remaining balance would be dispersed in installments over time.

In a twist, Jolie alleged that Pitt attempted to make her sign a Non-Disparagement Agreement (NDA) during their business deal regarding Miraval. According to Jolie, this agreement was proposed to conceal “years of abuse.” However, Pitt has refuted these claims. Notably, Jolie was compelled to disclose NDAs she had with third parties from 2014 to 2022 during their ongoing legal dispute.

Pitt’s lawyer contended that Jolie’s assertions were not true. Instead, it was suggested that Jolie and Nouvel had secretly negotiated with a third party – the Stoli Group, run by Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler, and its subsidiary Tenute del Mondo – behind Pitt’s back.

In the court case, Pitt argued that Jolie violated their agreement by selling her share to Stoli without his prior consent.

Pitt alleged that Stoli tried to acquire Miraval through a hostile takeover, but Jolie refuted any accusations of misconduct and stated that there was no prior agreement in place that necessitated Pitt’s consent for her to dispose of her share.

Previously owned by Jolie, the film company Nouvel, now under Stoli’s ownership, has filed a lawsuit worth $250 million in response to Pitt. Stoli claims that Pitt abused company resources for self-indulgent productions. However, Pitt denies these accusations.

In his latest statement, Pitt expressed his expectation that he’ll acquire Nouvel’s shares by the conclusion of the trial. According to him, Nouvel will no longer hold any stake in Miraval after this point.

He mentioned that Nouvel and Pitt’s company have ongoing lawsuits against each other in Europe, which were initially filed separately. Pitt further explained that these cases led to a Luxembourg court temporarily placing 10 percent of Nouvel’s shares in the company Quimicum into an escrow account. This is significant because Jolie and Pitt held ownership in Miraval through their separate companies, and Quimicum happens to be where they both owned shares.

In his words, should he emerge triumphant in that particular dispute, the arguments presented by Nouvel in that case would become irrelevant. However, I’m committed to pressing ahead with my own claims against Jolie.

Jolie has yet to respond to Pitt’s recent filing.

Last year, Pitt and Jolie finalized their eight-year divorce battle.
