The game developer 3DClouds has revealed that their arcade-inspired F1 racing title, Formula Legends, will be making its debut across various platforms including PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on the 18th of September. The trailer for Formula Legends isn’t excessively lengthy; it clocks in at around one minute. It offers us a sneak peek into how this game aims to rekindle the past of motorsport racing while infusing an arcade-style twist. We are given a glimpse of several aspects of the game, such as varying weather conditions, multiple tracks, and high-speed racing action.
Formula Legends was first introduced in June, with the developers disclosing that a large portion of the game’s inspiration stems from motorsport racing during the 1960s. Upon release, players can expect to choose from 16 distinct automobiles that represent different eras of racing, starting from the ’60s and continuing up to contemporary times. These vehicles will be raced across 14 diverse tracks, each modeled after real-world circuits found worldwide.
In the racing game Formula Legends, not only will players engage in thrilling on-track action, but they’ll also encounter a variety of challenges. These may include adverse weather conditions such as rain or dust storms. Moreover, players must tactically utilize their pit stops to maintain their vehicles optimally. This includes addressing issues like worn-out tires and depleting fuel supplies.
In real-time racing, players will juggle multiple vehicle aspects as they navigate the track. This involves handling the vehicle’s battery and electronic systems among other things. Additionally, players can close the gap with opponents using tactics like slipstream. By closely following an opponent’s racing path, players can gain a speed advantage before passing them.
In addition to the game’s title, a Story Mode is incorporated, immersing players within iconic automobiles, recreating the pivotal instances in the annals of Formula racing as described by the studio. During this narrative-driven experience, gamers will engage in championships that correspond to various time periods depicted in the game.
It’s important to mention that the game “Formula Legends” is designed exclusively for single-player experience. While it won’t offer traditional multiplayer modes, players can still engage in friendly competition through global leaderboards. As they race through different tracks, their times will be compared with other players worldwide. Additionally, players have the freedom to personalize their car, and the game is expected to fully support modifications, ranging from changing vehicle liveries and helmets, to customizing trackside sponsor graphics.
