Following the successful launch of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 earlier this year, Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment are partnering up once more. Their new project is John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, a cooperative first-person shooter that recently generated excitement at Gamescom 2025. You can watch the gameplay trailer and learn about the release date below.
Horror master John Carpenter helped write the story for Toxic Commando, a game where you and up to three friends fight off waves of zombies. The outbreak is the result of a science experiment gone wrong, and the scientists responsible are now trying to fix it. It’s a straightforward idea that works well with the gameplay, and the game has a lot of promise.
After receiving a lot of positive attention at Gamescom 2025, the upcoming game Toxic Commando is shaping up to be a promising title. It’s built on Saber’s Swarm engine – the same technology behind successful games like World War Z and Space Marine 2. Keep an eye out for its release on March 12, 2026.
