Fans have been waiting a while for the next Tomb Raider game, and while it won’t arrive until 2027, the news is official: Lara Croft is returning in her most ambitious adventure yet, Tomb Raider: Catalyst. Developed by Crystal Dynamics, the game features a more experienced and capable Lara easily overcoming her enemies. Thankfully, her signature grappling hook will also be back!
The new Tomb Raider: Catalyst is set to release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, published by Amazon Game Studios. Although we haven’t seen gameplay yet, the trailer shows Lara Croft escaping a crumbling tomb using acrobatic moves like wall-running and clinging to shifting structures. She then looks out over an ancient city, which supports the idea that this installment might be an open-world game.
We’ll share more information soon about the Unreal Engine 5 game and any news from The Game Awards. So far, we’ve gotten glimpses of a new Divinity game, Control Resonant, Leon in Resident Evil Requiem, and other exciting reveals.
