
100 Meters (Hyakuemu) is a title that’s already generating a lot of buzz. The forthcoming animated film is an adaptation of the manga by Uoto (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth), and it’s being produced by Studio Rock ‘n’ Roll Mountain, arguably the most stylish anime studio name ever. And to make things even more exciting, the upcoming movie has recently announced 10 new cast members, some of whom are renowned stars from today’s biggest anime productions.
100 Meters, featuring Tori Matsuzaka and Shota Sometani as leads Togashi and Komiya, respectively, will debut in both Japanese and US cinemas on September 19th. The movie boasts a powerful ensemble cast that ranks among the best in anime this year, thanks to some exciting new additions.
100 Meters Unveils a Stacked New Cast

Just announced are the latest characters joining the cast of “100 Meters” in the world of anime, and fans can’t help but get thrilled! A fresh snapshot has been unveiled, featuring the voice artists alongside their respective characters.
In the first row: Jun Kasama from “Tower of God” voices Nigami, Rie Takahashi known for her role in “KONOSUBA” voices Asakusa, and Yuki Tanaka recognized in “I Left My A-Rank Party” voices Shiina. Moving down to the second row: Atsumi Tanezaki famous for “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” voices the young Togashi, Aoki Yuki known for “The Apothecary Diaries” voices the young Komiya, and Yuma Uchida from “Shangri-la Frontier” voices Kabanoki. Lastly, on the third row: Junya Enoki popular in “TONIKAWA: Over the Moon for You” voices Numano, Haruki Ishiya known for “HYPNOSISMIC” voices Kyoden, Hiiro Ishibashi from “Mr. Villain’s Day Off” voices Morikawa, and Tomokazu Sugita recognized in “SAKAMOTO DAYS” voices Onomichi.
This month, we learned that Kenjiro Tsuda will portray Kaido, while Koki Uchiyama takes on the role of Zaitsu in the movie. The trailers showcase not only remarkable acting from the cast but also breathtaking rotoscoped animation by Rock ‘n’ Roll Mountain.
What Is 100 Meters About?

100 Meters is an anime centered around the intense realm of athletics, as hinted by its title. Uoto’s manga was initially published online on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website from 2018 to 2019, and later compiled into five printed volumes.
The movie is currently being helmed by Kenji Iwaisawa at Rock ‘n’ Roll Mountain. Character design and animation direction are overseen by Keisuke Kojima, while the art direction duties fall to Keikankun Yamaguchi. Lastly, Yusuke Terada, Yuki Katayama, and Akane Taketsugu are handling production.
