Christian McCaffrey wants to tackle every special moment in fatherhood.
Despite my eagerness to hit the football field, I find myself grappling with a sense of guilt. As I gear up for the upcoming NFL season with the San Francisco 49ers, I can’t help but reflect on the precious moments I’m missing at home – moments shared with my wife, Olivia Culpo, and our four-week-old daughter, Colette Annalise McCaffrey.
In a conversation on August 5 with the NFL Network, Christian admitted to sometimes feeling a sense of guilt. “At times, I feel like I’m resting comfortably in my hotel room while she’s putting in the hard work,” he said. “However, I am extremely grateful for her and I cannot emphasize enough how amazingly well she is performing her tasks.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: Contrary to some assumptions, the running back isn’t perpetually distant from his family. In fact, his family members, including my dear friend Olivia (age 33) and her mother, have made occasional trips to his training camp in sunny California. Our little bundle of joy, Colette, who was born via C-section in July, has even attended a few practices already.
The 29-year-old went on, expressing that it’s simply amazing. Regardless of how the rehearsals have gone – whether it’s been a good day or a challenging one – having the opportunity to be there and witness my little girl is truly unique and precious.
Despite longing for spare time with his daughter, Christian acknowledged that his wife has been instrumental in helping him balance fatherhood and his football career, ensuring he remains an active dad.
He mentioned, “I believe you adjust certain aspects of your life outside of your training. My family, particularly my wife, is incredibly supportive. They help out when necessary, enabling me to prioritize football while still maintaining a balance.
Meanwhile, the NFL player is growing more confident on the playing field, Olivia is thoughtfully stocking their daughter’s wardrobe with essential clothing items for home use. In fact, the ex-Miss Universe posted a heartwarming picture of her and Colette both looking adorable in matching brown plush bathrobes.
In her July 17 Instagram post, Olivia humorously referred to a mother-daughter duo’s coordinating outfits, stating, “Mother-Daughter Twinning,” and added a playful remark about their shared diaper duties, “Diapers included.
